Acrisure Stadium

Well, even though I've been inside Heinz Field for a game, I've never done the stadium Highlight Tour. We're doing that this year when we go to training camp, so my first official Highlight Tour will be Acrisure.

 

I think they are going to need to set some of this naming rights money aside and let it gain interest because the fight residents put on about taxpayer money for PNC and Heinz Field and then PpG paints Arena, I'd imagine it will be just as bad this go around.

 

I agree. I understand the taxpayers' concern to a degree. But these stadiums/arenas bring in far more revenue than just the sporting events played in them. Precisely why stadiums with retractable roofs are being made. Cities want events like F4s, Wrestlemanias, SBs, CFB national title games and comicons n such. New age stadiums are making old school expomarts a thing of the past. I want football in the elements, but that'll be a thing I'm the past.

We'll see how clear they are in bout 3-4 years when it's time to renew the lease.

That actually was a possibility last time. Not sure how much was posrmruring, but Washington County was listed as a real possibility if the Burgh did not come through. It really depends on economy, who is in charge etc. Public funding for stadiums is never popular, but it seems to find a way of getting done lol.

 

There is a huge difference between Kraft and Jerry Jones money..than Rooney, Mike Brown money.

If Steelers build a new stadium, they will build it where 3 Rivers was. Parking will be a b!tch.

For sure. It's mostly about the potential revenue lost if it doesn't get done. Stadiums are year round facilities these days, ultimately ending the need for convention centers and expocenters/expomarts. Monster truck rallies, wrestling, circuses, concerts, college sports, political rallies, political conventions, science conventions, economic forums and so on and so forth. Precisely why the next stadium will be a retractable roof or a dome. If the Rooney's want a SB here, that's the only way.

 

You don't think the Rooney's are super rich. Do you realize how much TV money these teams make? No they don't need tax payer money to make them richer.

 

Have you seen SoFi, Jerry's World or Mercedes-Benz? Acrisure is a dump compared to those.

It amazing how fast stadiums become outdated.

That was rebuilt. Bears played at a college stadium...so did Vikings.

 

FedEx Field started in 1994. Foreskins RFK stadium was retired a long time ago.
