My last post on this scumbag, we are better off without him and can move on now. Full support behind JuJu and we will pick up a stud WR in the draft, we always do. I'm not saying we will make the playoffs but I'll be happier supporting a team full of players that actually want to be here, go Steelers!

P.S. FU Raiders, I hate you more than the cheats

Glad he is gone. Hopefully we see less chatter about him on this board and AB reks himself and I can come hear and read about it cause I sure is shiat aint watching the Raiders play unless they play Pittsburgh which is not likely to happen until maybe 2020. Hope AB stays healthy enough so he gets jacked up by a Steeler defender. That SOB needs a good decleating. Gruden and AB should have a great time together lol. Oakland was 4-12 last year so AB aint going to turn around that team anytime soon haha

We aren't going anywhere either with or without AB. Time to look forward to the next decade. The ben sb window has closed.

Naa, just a rumor, I saw him in his follow list after that began floating around. He has several Steelers in there. Real question is Ben in there!

To be fair, you just compared our coach and QB to arguably the best coach and QB of all time. Many do not measure up to that meter stick. It doesn't mean they are terrible options.

You're kidding yourself if you think the distractions are over. Roethlisberger is still a Steeler and Tomlin is still the coach. It's just a matter of time.

The Steelers screwed this up. They should have played hardball with Brown. They did this a full week before the roster bonus. It was an inexcusable failure by the front office. There is very little evidence to support the speculation that Rooney ordered the move. There is plenty of fact to support the claim that Colbert failed to live up his own word that the team would only do something that made sense for the Steelers. The front office's credibility has been severely damaged. That is the lasting effect you and many others seem to be missing.

I agree but I still have a hard time with the fact both AB and Bell are both gone for just a third and fifth round pick. AB can kick rocks but I would of liked Bell to stay somehow. This is on the front office. I understand sending a message but a third and fifth round pick. Really. We can pickup a decent receiver in free agency. I’m sure there will be a good bit to pick from. DeSean Jackson would fit great and take some of the coverage of Juju.

That said I can’t stand the Raiders either and they’ll stink anyway. AB will be complaining after the third or fourth game when he doesn’t get 5-7 catches. He’s going to be calling Ben asking him talk to the front office and ask if I can comeback!!!

I completely agree with you on both points. The front office fell asleep at the wheel and let Brown go for pennies. Plus Ben is a diva and Tomlin has the loosest locker room. So we’ll see what happens next year but I think Ben will still throw teammates under the bus.

He was doing that before AB got in the NFL. He will continue to do it going forward.

The Steelers were played. There is no other way to look at this. There has been no other way to see it for a while. Everybody who tried to blame Roethlisberger was wrong. Everybody who bought into the crap about respect was wrong. Everybody who said the Steelers needed to get rid of him no matter how little they got in return was wrong.

Brown did the equivalent of a five-year-old holding his breath and stomping his feet until he got his way and the Steelers were actually stupid enough to give it to him. Giving Brown exactly what he wanted in every way was a brutal failure by the Steelers' front office. I'd say it sets a terrible precedent, but they've done it before. This was just more high profile.

Brown wasn't going to retire. He wasn't even going to miss games. He was going to do whatever would get him paid and plenty of folks on this board and in the Steelers' front office were taken in hook, line and sinker.

I love it when people who think they are the smartest person in the room spout opinion and try to force it onto others as some sort of irrefutable fact, when it really is nothing more than a load of :bscow:

If it was only about money I completely disagree with how he carried the situation though I doubt it was only all about money.

If you don't realize that Brown played the Steelers, I am smarter than you. I'm sorry if that simple truth offends you.

Spoken like someone who has tenure and can't be fired for incompetence and provincialism.

    In your opinion.

I would expect an English teacher to know the difference between a factual truth and conjecture.

I mean it is subjective to say who actually won but considering AB got what he wanted and the Steelers had to drop their initial asking price down significantly to trade him you can surmise he did win.

His agent said if the raiders hadn’t agreed to a new contract the same issues would have followed. It was about the money

Then I'm still compeltely confused why it was never reported that he asked pittsburgh for a raise. So he went into the front office week 17, asked for a raise, they said no, and then he proceeded to skip practice for 3 days?
