You keep using that word. It does not mean what you think it means.

That is why you don't deal him. The locker room matters, but the level of talent on the team means more. If you sell off elite players for pennies on the dollar, you severely weaken the team.

Patrick Peterson came out today and said he doesn't want to be traded now, Arizona would've been the first team I would call to try and trade AB.

I think Dulac is spot on. Bringing AB back is inviting a train wreck. Get the best deal you can, but if it's only a second rounder, don't we tempted to think you can keep him and his talent. Suck up your pride, take the decreased value and be glad you did. When AB is ranting because Garrapollo or Tannenhill is getting him the ball enough, be glad it ain't you.

He also said he wanted to be traded during the season, there was a new quote from him yesterday that he wants to stay with Arizona.

He likely won't be back. I'm wouldn't want him to be gone but I just dont see it. But the team has to act fast. That roster bonus is due in march.

If I'm a trade partner, I tell the Steelers that they're paying the roster bonus, not me. Don't like it? Shop him elsewhere or keep him.

If that is the case and, using said example, if talent truly does supercede over all, Dallas should have kept Greg Hardy. For that matter, regardless of what many think, Kareem Hunt should have been kept by the Chiefs. Talent can become an issue to the lockeroom; the entire organization if it reaches that level of toxicity.

AB has reached that level. From 2016 onward, he seems more interested with himself than the team. That has now caught up to him. He has no one to blame for his string of actions but himself; him skipping the finale against Bengals being the tipping point.

Talent is needed. A good lockeroom too. Both are essential. What is truly needed is a goal. Rather, something everyone can aspire towards. Not just the cliche Super Bowl either. One that can resonate with everyone within the lockeroom. That is what has been missing with this team.

That part DOES befall on Tomlin. For a coach who can motivate, that is his calling card.

Yes. They would have to wait until the new league year starts.

I'm not even touching the first part. What Hardy and Hunt did is at a whole different level.

As far as the team having a goal to aspire towards.....They had the death of Art Sr. and the injury to Shazier to use as rallying cries. The problem is the lack of leadership and accountability in the locker room and from the HC wasn't at the level needed to turn that fuel into fire. We have too many guys that rather talk about it then be about it. Paper champs if you will. Not willing to put forth the effort and sacrifice needed.
Just transparent talk ,kind of like " unleashing hell in December " . Words falling on deaf ears.....

I was talking about in early March when the new league year starts. His roster bonus is due 5 days after the new league year.

I was about to ask the question on the dates. Thanks.

5 days is a lot considering they could start trade “talks” now if they wanted to.

What was said though was talent supercedes over all. That was my overall point. Regardless of the examples used, at the end of the day, they are all poisonous to their respective lockerooms.

Was just reading Ed's chat. Said there are people in that locker room dissatisfied with AB.

Maybe Heyward and some of the others would like to have him back but I also think they are being told to walk the company line to drive up is trade value. Regardless, there are teammates who don't want him back.

If Steelers really want to send a message, they'll send AB packing.

    Yep.

AB challenged the authority of Mike Tomlin and has seemingly won. The issue is not if Art Rooney II wins or loses this though. The issue lies in a message being sent. For that matter, a message has to be sent.

You lost me when you compared Brown's situation to Hardy's because Hardy's offenses are vastly different from Brown's. Those situations are not comparable.

You can't just give away talent, and it seems like that is what the Steelers would have to do at this point. Taking a big cap hit for the right to give away an elite receiver and get maybe a second-round pick? That is a terrible decision.

What I said was talent supersedes trouble in the locker room. Hardy's issues are an entirely different matter.

Greg Hardy's case brings trouble. Correction, such an act of not just his previous transgressions but introduction into an already unstable lockeroom not just brings trouble but also proliferates it.
