Agreed. The good thing is the Steelers can't trade him until March. I'm hoping cooler heads prevail. I just don't see the Steelers getting enough value that it is worth losing Brown, even with the drama, and taking the huge cap hit.

Sad. He was on pace and could have been in contention with Rice but rather live in his shadows. I'd gladly take their #2 pick.

I gladly would too, that would be awesome but does SF want AB badly? I would think no.

#2 pick can be a franchise player for a decade. AB doesn't have that much time, certainly not at the high level he is playing now.

That would be beyond my wildest dreams for what they could get if SF goes for that. :prayer:

49ers would be stupid to give up the #2 for AB. He is a head case and the moment things go bad in Frisco, he will throw a temper tantrum and quit on the team. AB and Bell both should be banned from the NFL. Let them play in the new XFL or the other pro-football league in the making.

I would be surprised if we could get a pick that high, but I'd be absolutely over-the-moon if we could.

I'm thinking best case scenario if one of these teams with a Top 10 pick want him and I wouldn't be against this. Swap of 1st and their 2nd. Trading one of the best WR for 1st round position and a high 2nd. That seems fair all around.

We are not going to come close to getting a top 10 pick for him. He's 31.

You're likely right, but he's also the best and some teams are desperate.

Still, am I the only one so sick of all of this that I don't even care anymore? This s**t is just so old.

That's why a swap of 1st and their 2nd makes sense. Of course it all depends on who the Steelers want but if they like Devin White they might need that jump in position.

I'm not sure the 49ers will part with that #2 over all pick. Even to get AB and our #20 pick.

Might be more realistic to get the 49ers 2019 2nd Round Selection this year (which is only 2 spots out of round 1), and maybe get their 2020 1st round selection.

Going to be interesting in what the market brings for AB if they indeed move him. Which by each day passes, it seems more and more likely that he no longer wants to be here.

Why all this disbelief about getting a #2 pick? I read an article previously that some owners thought the Steelers would want a 1st round pick or multiple picks for Brown.

I think because you don't get a pick that high as a franchise that often. Unless your the Browns. It took them 15 years but they finally hit on a couple of good players.

Which brings us back to the reality that the Steelers need to keep Brown. They aren't going to get enough in trade for it to be even close to worth losing Brown and taking the huge cap hit. They need to bring him back and tell Tomlin to make it work or get another job.

Look at what the Redskins had to give up when they traded for the 2nd overall to get RG3. They have up the 6th overall, 2 other 1st's and a 2nd. Even if it was an overpay, that gives you an idea of what the 2nd overall is worth.

We could send 2 AB's to SF and we still aren't going to sniff that pick.

AB is 31 and has serious character issues. I won't be shocked if we don't get a 1st at all and instead get multiple 2nd's. Any 1st we do get will be late

They would want. I'm sure every team would want a first rounder for any player. What you want does not determine what others would be willing to give up. The Steelers dont hold the cards here. AB wants out.

I wouldn't rule it out. JRice is no dummy, and they (SF) would probably tend to listen to him if he presses hard enough (which he has been doing - I mentioned it last week). #2 may sound ludicrous for a 31-year-old, but he's All-World and a 4-win season makes ownership a little more trigger happy.

Chiefs had to trade 2 first rounders and a 3rd to move up to TENTH to get mahomes(which is a steal he's worth 5 first round picks). We are not getting a first for AB people can kill that dream now.

Wont happen either. Chiefs had to trade 2 first rounders and a 3rd to move up for mahomes. Eagles had to trade 2 first rounders, a second, a 3rd, and a 4th to get Carson wentz. Please people be realistic.

The Steelers absolutely hold the cards here he's under contract. If he refuses to play you can get the league involved for violation.

If I’m the FO. 49ers better pay handsomely or his ass will be with the Jets or better yet trade him to Buffalo

I doubt he refuses to play. But do you seriously think after what happen him being in the locker room is a recipe for success?
