They need to get Ben's contract done next, his 2018 cap hit is 23 million.

Ben needs to he the one to restructure. Brady is making like half of what he makes...

Yeah I’m sure he would if he had nice big long term contract? Why wouldn’t he turn that into an all guaranteed check? Stupid thing to say. Lmao you people that think Bell is greedy just because you’re a fan of the team need to grow up. The team is trying to protect itself just like Bell is trying to protect himself. Bells in his prime came off his rookie contract that he severally out performed and then got franchised and kept it rolling. Why would he settle for a quote on quote “team friendly deal?” When this is going to be his one big contract if we’re going on the 30 is the age consumption for most rbs? Every year he gets older his value goes down. It’s called business. Do you people at your jobs settle for less money to help out the company you work for? No I didn’t think so. So don’t expect a football player to just because you’re a fan of the team. Also he’s not just a RB he’s an offensive weapon. Now all you narrow minded people that think he’s selfish fire away and make yourself feel better

Exactly why the Steelers would be STUPID to lock him into a long-term deal at $14.5 million per season!

I agree. I WAS for signing him but all the crap spewing out his mouth and tweets now. I say good bye. Use that money to bring in deion lewis and maybe the lb from tennessee williamson. I am sick of hearing him say the steelers are to low and they are making him the highest paid back by almost double the next guy.

Just because the rb market is down because of years past and he is making 6mill more than the next back means nothing. Especially when he’s more than just a RB. HES AN OFFENSIVE WEAPON. I really hope they get him locked up long term just to here you guys cry about it even more, or act like you’re happy when it happens

Long term deal would be about 4 years still in his prime. So nope that makes no sense

No. But we also don't ask for double what the highest paid guy in our department is getting, then pout and make idle threats to quit if we don't get our way.

If this ******* is on the team opening day, I'll be pissed off.

    $10,000,000 talent. $.10 brain.

Well decide what u want. A mouthy running back who is not worth 14 mill a year or a team that has flexibility to add pieces to a contender? I heard on radio we averaged 25 pts a game with bell and 25 without. I havent looked to see if it true or not but i do know we gave up 42 to jacksonville. Cant have both man.

Apparently it makes sense to the Steelers braintrust. They haven't locked him into a 4 year deal at $14.5 million at this point and I don't think they will.

They better not. These are Bens final years. They lost the brains and heart of their defense last year. They need to spend that money on that side of the ball. They're not going anywhere with the current state of the defense. Giving an arrogant attention whore that much money at the expense of the D is suicide. This team can win without him and what he brings to the table performance wise is more than taken away by the distraction of his self centered egotistical arrogance.

The guy is dumber than a box of rocks and his "I'll retire" threat personifies that. Does anyone really buy that bull****? A guy so worried about, so consumed with money that he scoffs at 1 and a half times the highest paid player at his position makes, is going to take nothing to prove a point? Mindless idle threats piss me off. Especially when you spout them off the day before a playoff game. **** this guy. Let him walk. Get him the **** out of here.

The extra 6 million more that theyd pay him over the next highest paid RB would be the compensation for his contributions to the passing game.

Maybe that's why they offered him 50% more than the next highest paid person at his position. ;) Let that sink in.

I so can't wait for this dickbag to hit the FA market, not get what Pittsburgh was offering him and sign for less on a team with a bad O line, mediocre QB, and less surrounding talent on offense and watch his production plummet to the level of his rap career. I can't wait for reality to bukaake him like a cheap Asian hooker.

That's funny. You still think a back with that kind of mileage on him already will still be in his prime four years from now.
