Apparently it’s pretty easy since he’s certainly not the first broke washed up jock that can’t talk

Your federal govt does it every half hour. Giving crazy people money leads to bad outcomes.

I wondered how much he’s paying in child support. Only found that he was behind by 30k at one point. Also that he has 6 kids. He named one of them autonomy brown. Wtf? Autonomy? Really?

Bobby Bonilla gets $1,193,248.20 every July 1 up until 2035 by the NY Mets and his net worth is over 25 million dollars. He’s no dummy.

I must have misinterpreted your post. I thought you meant he was broke and down and out. If I were an athlete I’d seriously consider modeling my contract after his 25 year deal.

Ohtani deferred most of his salary until 2034, with 10 years of $68M payouts. It may save him $100M in taxes. Also saves Dodgers some MLB luxury tax.

Not that hard to do if you are living the A-List life and making foolish investments.

He bought an Arena League team at one stage and ran it in to the ground for example

It was a smart move by Bonilla. He was under contract with the Mets for another year. Think they owed him just under 6 million. So Bonilla agreed to defer payment of the remaining money for however many years. The. He would be paid his remaining 6 million plus interest. It certainly it worked out in his favor. He retired two decades ago and makes more annually than some active players.
