Always love the "first to report", Schefter is calling it a 4 year, local guys say 5 year $72.71m

It is a 68 mil 4 year extension to his contract which pays him 4.7 mil this year. So 72.7 for the next five years. ave. 14.5 mil a year.

Yeah. Honoring his last year of the previous contract and getting an extension with big money. He's worth it and he earned it. Win for everyone involved

It's a good example for other players too. Brown was severely underpaid, the Steelers kept their word and Brown never held out. They did it the right way.

Brown's 17 per extension, blows AJ's 15 per deal away. The Steelers rewarded him

Glad he is now a Steeler for life indeed.

All that remains now is the long term Le'Veon Bell deal and the rest will settle itself out soon yet.

And his agent, Drew Rosenhaus has a history of holding players out. Combination of integrity by AB and the Steelers holding firm in doing things their way.

I'm not sure the Bell contract is coming. His lapses of judgement may not translate into the Steelers having the same faith that they have in AB.

Colbert is not exactly a tough negotiator.

Wow, what a surprise. I really thought the Steelers would cut bait with him after his FB live debacle, his selfish attitude after a teammate scored a TD that he didn't, his excessive celebration penalties which cost us field position. We could have probably gotten a 3rd round draft pick for him and just drafted a guy this year to plug in to his role. Oh well, we missed the boat I guess.

Thats how you negotiate. Not boinking a guy in the butt for 2 years by franchising him and then decide if you want him longer.

    Good deal, love it :applaud:
