Good job not seeing the difference between losing in the AFC title game vs losing to two 2-10 teams in 5 days.I don't think it's possible to make the championship game twice with a QB like Trubisky.

Fowler now reporting that Cousins is Plan B at QB. Don't know how true it is but I will be sad if that is the case.

I’ll help explain it to you

    They wanted to pay Fields

They didn’t want to over pay Fields

    And they didn’t

    Now that makes sense

"Because I've worked with this group every day," said Tomlin adamantly. "I'm excited about it. We're very familiar with this team. We know how to play this group. So that's where our focus is as we get prepared for this one. What you mentioned is my story. It's not this collective story. Many of these guys involved do not tote those bags. I happily tote those bags. But it's not something I'm going to project on the collective."

Doesn’t mean it was the right call. Russ led offense didn’t exceed 17 points in any of the last 5 games.

If Tomlin would stick with Fields all season long last season, possible that the steelers wouldn't have needed to overpay to keep Fields...The fact that he was benched despite a 4-2 start made it impossible for Fields to trust Tomlin

"I happily tote those bags" is not a good choice of words by Tomlin. No HC should be happy about those bags.

Any truth in that Rodgers was spotted in the Strip District yesterday?

So 17 of one vs 17 of another

And this is what keeps getting debated

I believe both are a mistake, but since I don't own the team, or have any say....I have to roll with the punches.

LoL.....I Love how You, the I've just started watching football in the 2000s are telling me that has been watching since the 1970s, and others from before that how it's evolving. LoL. Most of all I love how you put up stats to go against yourself. You: only 12% of Qbs, and then you, it's evolving. LoL.
I hate to tell you this, but there was a time when passing wasn't a big part of the game, and some Qbs ran more than Lamar, and Josh Allen do now.

Agree, but Rodgers gives me more hope for the upcoming season than Fields would have. With Rodgers we may actually rediscover the middle of the field and that we have a TE who is a receiving threat.

So let's look at it this way my friend.......
Did both Qbs (Wilson, and Fields) win every game that the Defense held the opponent under 16 points??? Yes
Did one Qb win games that the Defense didn't hold the opponents under 16 points??? Actually one did, multiple times, and one never did.
Why would you go with the Qb that showed He couldn't win a game if the Defense gave up over 16 points??? It make no sense.

Even though I believe it's a mistake, I totally agree. Fields showed he couldn't beat out what old Wilson could do, He surely couldn't beat out Rodgers can do.

If you don't see the evolution of running QBs, that's your problem, not mine.

I mean, 3 of the 4 running QBs you're considering (you had 100 runs or more as a criteria last year) were in the Championship Game, and one of them won the Super Bowl... And he almost won in 2022, but the DC Eagles were outcoached like crazy by Andy Reid.

LoL. If a NFL game that has been around for hundreds of years, had running Qbs since the beginning, and had SBs for 59 years, and You can flaunt one , or even 4 guys is a laugh. I'm sorry this gets your knickers in a bunch. LoL
When You get at least close to half of the SBs being won by that type of Qb play, then come gloat. Until then , you are like my friend that gets laid once every 3 years, and then brags about it untill He finally gets it again. LoL

But with Wilson during his 6-1 start they were top 10 in scoring IIRC, the last 5 games isn't all on Wilson the whole team didn't play well.

We never got to see what Fields could really do as a running threat with the Steelers, at least Fields would've been signed by now and playing the waiting game with Rodgers .

This is my biggest complain about this....The coaching staff did not play with the with Fields' strengths when he was our starter and if he looks very good with the Jets, it's going to be an awful look for Tomlin to have benched Fields for a washed QB.I also understand Fields wanting to leave the Steelers when it was obvious that Tomlin had no confidence in Fields.
