I don't doubt that, but that doesn't mean Rodgers is accepting reality. Also, I keep seeing contradictory reports on the Vikings. Some say they don't want Rodgers. Some say they are open to signing him and letting him compete with McCarthy for the job.

They should do like a baby sex announcement... have both viking and steeler jersey's everywhere and then have rogers jump out of a box with the correct jersey.

They'd get a ton of female viewers.

I don't understand why so many here and online are up in arms about the wait.

First, Rodgers has earned the right to think over his decision carefully, I have no problem with that. He risks having options dwindle, but maybe he is waking up every day, seeing if he wants to play or not. Maybe he wants the timer to expire and make the decision for him.

Second, we don't NEED to know until the night before the draft. Khan, Weidl, Tomlin (ugh) and Scouts should be and probably are coming up with parallel draft plans based on Rodgers signing and not signing. Honestly, it probably shouldn't change their draft anyway.

Third, if we want a shot at being playoff competitive, Rodgers is our only shot and probably has been all off-season. Yes, we could have dumped $100 million on Darnold, but $100 million for a QB that has been a train-wreck up until last year seems...unwise.

I hope Rodgers signs, I'll have some guarded optimism for 2025 season and actually beating playoff quality teams (instead of narrowly beating the dregs and getting whipped by playoff teams...Tomlin's M.O. the past 6 or so years).

If Rodgers retires, I will be mildly disappointed, but also optimistic because it should force Steelers to draft a QB fairly early. Those a that think Dart shouldn't go at 21, mainly because we need an upside DL rookie (and I agree we do), may be misguided. If Dart appears to be an NFL caliber QB to the GMs and scouts, and you can't find a way to obtain another day 2 pick that is much earlier than our later 3rd, then you have to take him (or Sanders or Ward if they slip down and you like them better).

Personally, I'd like to see a top DL fall and take them. I'd also be agreeable if Khan trades down 4-8 spots and gains a 2nd round pick (probably would have to ship back a 4th or 5th), or maybe an early 3rd and not ship back any picks. Then take the DL or QB that you like.

While I love Jeanty, RB is one pick I think we can't make in round 1, not with DL and QB is such shambles. Any reach needs to be a DL or QB with good upside. If we're lucky, Jeanty is off the board. I don't see any other RB worthy of a first round pick in this draft.

Hope we get Rodgers and find a way to get a top 4 DL and top 4 QB with first two picks...but if not, we're looking at Shough or Howard or Milroe or the Syracuse guy in round 3 or 4. Guessing Milroe is off the board, as some teams are probably drooling over that 40 time, passing deficiencies be darned (and they may be correct).

because Rodgers should give them an answer. So we can decide how to go about the draft. Like trying to get someone better than Mason--even though I like Mason and hope he starts

Rodgers coming or not changes nothing with how they will draft. Even if the Steelers had a crystal ball and knew they would win a Super Bowl with Rodgers next year, they would still draft the same exact way.

Those who are impatient are usually the ones that don’t understand negotiations and likely work 9-5 type jobs.

If i were Rodgers i would retire. Wait, not sure, maybe the one year deal is worth it and i’d have a chance to cement my legacy. Steelers have a good team, we’d have a shot (at one playoff win?)

Tough decision, would have to think about it.

I wonder if he is watching film of our O-line from last season? He'd be like hmmmmmmmm maybe I should retire. I hate the guy but do believe if we get him and HE PUTS IN THE EFFORT TO WIN I like the team.

    Tomlin “
    visit.

"I really wanted to spend more of our time just getting to know him better and things that he values as a player and a man, and what he might be looking for with his next stop," he said.

LOL he has been in the league 20 years, surely you know him by now.

Never the same as sitting down with a man and talking face to face eye to eye

It was the right thing to do in the process

I think Rodgers would have said no if he found our offer unacceptable. So, he is a tentative yes.

It`s smart to wait as long as you can. Some QB might get hurt somewhere and all of the sudden there is an unexpected bidder.

It’s hysterical we are just waiting around for a 42 year old washed up QB. Just roll with Mason draft a QB in the 4th or 5th round and go for a first rd QB next year. Be done with this crap already.

Sounds like a great idea to wait around for a QB who is desperate for another option to open up...

Why would Rodgers just say no if the offer was unacceptable? He loses nothing by keeping the negotiations going. He knows they are facing a season with Mason Rudolph as the starting quarterback. He probably thinks they will cave and give him what he wants.

    Rodgers is Bobby Layne 2.0

    former champion - check
    Past his prime - check
    Head case/character - check

only glaring difference is the age and Rodgers didnt curse his former team, or did he? Lol
