Hope it blows up in their face. Steelers are obviously desparate. Neither Wilson or Fields wants to play for the Steelers for their price.

Depot is reporting that the Steelers are close to a deal with Rodgers.

I'm guessing this probably happens today.

On this day last year, who would've thought that just one year later Kenny Pickett would have a SB ring with the Eagles, we would have signed and lost Russell Wilson and Justin Fields, and are about to sign A. Rodgers? :lolol:

Oh, and we signed Metcalf for $80 million a year.

Depot didn't report anything. They are regurgitating what Dulac Tweeted, then deleted. Once again, Dulac showed that he is wrong far too often and doesn't even have the integrity to stand by his work when it happens. The appropriate response there would have been to Tweet a correction.

If this happens, I dont hate it.

My first choice would be Justin Fields. His running ability helps make up for some of the offensive dysfunction. He is young and still has some upside.

But if not Fields, Rodgers would be my second choice. Rodgers is better than Russ, and IMO Sam Darnold blows. Rodgers personality doesn't bother me. This is the Mike Tomlin coached Steelers. Everybody does whatever the hell they want to anyway. Aaron will fit right in.

Rodgers can’t move and GP will be traded before or at the draft.

I’m gonna guess if Rodgers is signed, they’re picking a QB this year.

If they sign Mr darkness retreat it will be for a year or two at most. Aka a bridge qb. Which means we will be drafting quarterbacks for the foreseeable future

They haven't truly coached up a young stud QB in 21 years. Looking back, it's amazing what Cowher accomplished with what he had at QB.

Imagine if he had Ben for his entire tenure? I'm seeing 3-4 SB's.

Point is though, I don't trust this staff to get the most out of a lesser QB.

I frankly do not want Wilson or Fields for whatever their price is either.

Noll won nothing without a HoF QB, Noll couldn't coach up a QB that didn't have HoF potential.
Cower won nothing without a HoF QB, Cowher couldn't coach up a QB that didn't have HoF potential.
Tomlin won nothing, will win nothing without a HoF QB, Tomlin can't coach up a QB that didn't have HoF potential.

So what's the problem? This seems normal.

Steelers get Rodgers. But how many years does Rodgers even have left? Ideally,
You think Tomlin makes the AFC title game twice with Stewart? What about a Super Bowl with O'Donnell?

Point being, Cowher did more with less. He definitely coached up QB's.

The Steelers should just draft a QB each year in the late rounds. The odds of finding the next Tom Brady are slim. But it's worth a shot.
