At this point just trade for MR, go 5- 12 and draft a Qb in 2026

I think he will treat Rodgers the same way he treated Ben, and rightfully so. Both paid their dues as players. I don’t like him for his extracurricular issues, but if he’s half a player before his injury it’s still better than what we’ve had the past few years

The last season we had a real QB was probably 2018. BB was injured in 2019 and did not play great afterwards. That is 6 full seasons without a real QB at the helm and we are entering 2025 in disarray (from our perspective anyways). Backups as starters, glory days QBs on 1 year deals as starters......//head slap

What's funny is a couple of the best games from QB came from Mason in the period. Do i think he is the answer, no, is he the future, definitely not. Would I give him the keys for pennies compared to what they will pay Aaron, having put other cash into areas of need, do the unthinkable and trade still viable but aging players (yes TJ), get picks to move around and build from the ground up. Draft a QB this year with those extra picks, and have the picks next year to move up again and grab another.

We never are in rebuild, we retool...big difference...and we stay happy winning and getting TO the PO's with late seasons collapse. Head slap indeed.

Have the Vikings now joined the party for Rodgers? Favre is recommending he give it some thought.

    Pull the plug on Rodgers.

A losing record isn't likely to happen with this roster; doubly so in terms of the investments that are currently being put in along with what's to come following the 2025 Draft.

Again though... I could be wrong.

The Steelers have really painted themselves into a corner. They at least need to sign Mason so they have something. Then maybe they can wait.

I really don’t see a ton of difference between Wilson, Rodgers, Cousins and Rudolph. Sure two of them have long-ago SBs but at this stage they’re all mediocre starters.

What investments? Good FAs are signing with other teams. They have 2 picks in the top 100+. Its a :poopy: show right now.

From Bradshaw to O'Donnell was 9 years. I'd say Neil was our 3rd best QB in SB era. I'd say Brister and Malone were better then what we have been throwing out there since 2018.

D.K. Metcalf + both 2024 and 2023 classes. Yes, not having a QB is a massive problem. However, this is the very same Mike Tomlin that went 8-8 with both Mason Rudolph and Duck Hodges... in 2019.

The 2025 Roster is better Offensively than the 2019 one. Defense wise?! Time will tell as the 2025 Draft isn't here yet. A lot can happen between now and then.

By making him a realistic offer.

The Steelers can keep their cards close and leave everyone in suspense. That might end with the Steelers getting crap. More starting QBs are needed around the NFL right now than there are quality QBs available. I am not advocating for Wilson, Rodgers, or anyone else for that matter. I am going to trust that the Steelers organization has a handle on what they need......but, if they don't lock someone up soon, they are going to miss the bus......imo

I can easily see the Steelers wanting Rodgers, Wilson feeling crapped on because they tried to replace him, so he walks......and then Rodgers acts like Rodgers and plays games for the next 2 months until he ends up going to the bidder who kisses the ring best....and the Steelers end up with empty pockets.

You are right that we are in a rebuild, but we keep retooling. Good analogy. Same basement that got flooded in the last storm with a new coat of paint slapped on it. That's us.....lol

I could get behind MR being the starter. He has had flashes of good play. We could do worse (Trubisky for example). I would not expect a championship run, but just see it as a bridge year (like last year). I don't follow college, but from what I have read on these boards and in many other places, this is a terrible year for a QB from the draft. Next year is supposed to be the opposite.

TJ is a hard one. I absolutely see the logic in it, especially if we really go for the rebuild. It is almost essential for that. But still, it is TJ and that would be a painful move.

This is Aaron Rodgers. Probably worried that purple would make him look pasty or something like that.....lol

And then he would go to Cleveland to see if they make a better realistic offer

We dont say that name in Steeler Nation :nono::rant: And that piece of :bscow: doesnt deserve any credit whatsoever. We would be at 7 SB if not for that sell out.
