Yes, they beat Baltimore yesterday; but, that happened because Baltimore made some costly mistakes. Our offensive was unproductive for the entire first half and some of the second half too STILL. Why does this team only pick up offensive play in the 4th quarter? Why don't they start the game with intensity, consistency and with a sense of urgency? I few lucky offensive and defensive plays contributed to the win. So what causes a team to be in disarray... coaching. Coaching changes still need to be made; disarray comes from the top down. I was actually hoping for a loss yesterday because it MIGHT have implemented some change. There will be no change now.. and maybe not even at the end of the year for that matter if the team finishes without a losing record.

But if we look in the big picture, if this is the only way the Steelers can win against the above average team (like mistakes for opposing teams or turnovers for our defense like against the Browns), they are in trouble and that's the problem for the Steelers since at least 2021...They have zero offense and our defense is average at best for the most part

    Two points on this:

    1. A few lucky plays contribute to most games. For some reason, Ravens-Steelers games even more.

    2. Nobody thinks all the problems are fixed with one game. To say there will be no change just because of the box score is a bit silly.

Impossible for me to root for a loss. Without an injury and a dropped pass Steelers are 1-4 but that is NFL football. This is not a good football team at the moment yet we are 3-2 in first place. Way I see it we are going to improve as the season wears on. I do agree Coaching sucks. I also believe we are stuck with what we got for this season.

If rather be 3-2 with issues to fix than a well-played 1-4 wondering what happened.

More than pleased we are in first. Saves me from reading multiple posts of how our QB can't throw more than ten years with any accuracy. My opinion Kenny has a pretty ball.

The offense doesn't seem to be fixable at this point...Maybe if we fire Canada since the Steelers are under 20 PPG since he's been our OC in 40 games But the Steelers are great to win the ugly close game since several years now, it's true

My take on the game is I love when we beat the Hated Ravens no matter how ugly the game looks. But, the offense still stinks and we can only win one way. D gets turnovers or plays great at time and other teams messes up. Same thing for last 3 years. By the way, how dumb was Harbaugh decision to not kick a fg and make it a 2 score game. DUMB

While this may not have been an impressive win, it was a win. The best thing about it is that several of our rookies and other young players contributed to a win against our chief rival in the AFC North. That is something to build on.

Thats my take away as well. Multiple people claiming our eyes don't see that a few of the rookies or some backups deserve more playing time claiming practice and coaches judging based upon that. Our eyes also tell us Gunner is a bum and hopefully we send him on his way. I forget who was returning but his 1st kickoff return he only ran it back to the 20..I guess Danny or Tomlin saw that and said too good we can do worse and we will.

I actually think Gunner can be a contributor in the passing game if we had someone designing the schemes and concepts to use him effectively. Not very impressed with him as a return man though.

Who knows. The NFL is strange. Teams look amazing 1 week and then terrible the next. We're consistent and always look terrible. It is interesting to watch better offenses and what they do to get guys open, misdirect, and watch plays build off one another. I thought the steelers have done that 1 drive all year. Yesterday a few plays we actually had wide open wide receivers. It was shocking to see. Hopefully they can build off that so teams respect the pass more which will open more running lanes. I too would like to see more Warren but we need Naj. 1 RB doesn't cut it and we can attest to that as Leveon always going into the playoffs injured.

Take wins how you get them. Take an ugly win over a pretty loss.

I think this is the only method the Steelers have to win football games.

Force turnovers, try to capitalize, don't give up big plays (weather that is stopping them or the other team dropping balls etc.)

Keep it close try to win at the end.

5 games in I don't think this offense is going to come around.

If we can get Kenny Pickett to play like he does in the last 3-4 min. of 4th quarters we would maybe have something.

The Matt Canada thing is a disaster and it probably won't be finished until the season is over now.

Maybe we get a little healthier and get DJ back, it may help the WR room, getting Pat F. back might help too.

Sadly I watch these other teams like San Fran, Eagles, KC, Dolphins, and it feels like we are light years away from them offensively speaking.

I get what the OP is saying. Lots of issues need addressed. But 3-2 heading in to the bye!?!? Hell yeah. I'll take it!

Getting DJ back is going to be huge. All the Steelers need, is to get the offense consistently scoring a little over 20 points, and this team is going to win most games. To me that's doable even with Canada.

I know for a fact that Sean Payton would love to have our problems personally! :lolol:

Still, good on the Jets for parking their foot up his ass! :drinks:

As others have stated, a win is win. For that matter, the OP sort of contradicted his own comments. Yes, the Ravens did shoot themselves in the foot.... many times. However, none of that matters if the Steelers don't capitalize on those mistakes. More than not, the Offense didn't score as many points as needed; Cris Boswell being the biggest reason the team stayed in the game.

Once the Offense did score, all the Defense had to do was clean up the rest. Granted, Chuks' dumbass penalty made the game a bit more interesting than it had to be but thank God for T.J. Watt! To conclude though... a win as a win...

..... and given how royally effed this Offense has been under Matt Canada, I will gladly take it any way I can. :steelflag::steelflag::steelflag:

Man he is stuck with an overpaid washed up QB. That contract is insane.

Yes I feel good we won against the Hated Purple Crows. Always a good dub. But now its Monday. The bye came at a good time hopefully getting players back on the field against the Rams.

Unfortunately the issues with this team are still present. No consistency. You see what happens when their are zero splash plays you get owned. Can't always rely on them. The offense is still offensive. I do feel their will be zero changes in coaching until after the season. They need to figure a better start from the bell. The run, run, pass isn't going to cut it. Man how many times they were in 3 and 6. Seems every time in the 1st half.

Consistency is what I want to see going forward. Can't always win ugly games especially when the other team beat themselves.

I was glad to see our 2 top draft picks Jones and Joey not only play but contribute to the victory. I thought Jones was solid in his first start and Joey Jr. made the big pick when the game looked liked it was going to be lost after Gunners fumble.

Actually that's our 3 to picks. Benton didn't do much on the stat sheet but he played a damn good game also IMO.

8 dropped passes, 2 of which would've been touchdowns. We should be buying lottery tickets with that kind of luck.

I just love the fact that no matter how bad we are Lamar can't seem to beat us. Watching him have his temper tantrums makes my day every time. I guess what I'm saying is I almost enjoy this one more for the fact that the ratbirds lost than that we won, and it makes it all the better that it's ugly with them shooting themselves in the foot. Ravens fans may also want to face up to the fact that part of the reason Lamar's receivers have so many drops is that he throws them knuckleballs half the time. (Agholor excluded; he drops everything)
