In my opinion, he was a good signing.

However, I thought it was for inside linebacker and not outside (although he can play there in a pinch). When we signed him and knowing the status of Spence, I was surprised we picked Shazier. I thought we could have survived this season with Spence/Timmons/Moats/Williams as our inside backers.

Still not sure I wouldn't rather have a good CB from this draft over Shazier but that is me.

I like Moats. I like him for his price and I think he's a very good fit for what we do. Hope we keep him around for 3-4 seasons.

As fast as Shazier is playing I have no doubt he could play corner and be a good one, that guy can fly........

My 2 guys in the draft I wanted were Benjamin and Fuller. I couldn't decide on which one to take. We took neither. I love Shazier's potential, but with Garvin and Williams and Spence all as options, and having cut guys who I also liked, it looks like we missed some higher end talent.

Fuller has been pretty good so far from what I have seen.
Benjamin, imagine that catch radius with Ben throwing him the ball. That is not to say Wheaton is not a good option or that I don't like Brown or Bryant, but Benjamin I thought was going to be special. Ben would have made him a star IMO. Brown and Benjamin would have been right there with Boldin and Fitzgerald IMO....we missed an opportunity there.

Moats should have always played in a 3-4 OLB position. He was a DE in college in a 4-3 who they made an ILB. No wonder Buffalo blows!

I think he was a good signing too, but del, I think for the opposite reason of what you do. I think he's much better outside than in. or at least a better fit in this defense outside.

One thing I noticed the other night was that he seemed to be WAY stronger than JJ.

Yup, I actually said it out loud while watching him push the pocket.

I'll be watching Kyle Fuller. He was my pick going into the draft. I didn't have a problem with Shazier over Dennard because I was afraid Dennard wouldn't fit us, and regardless of need, Shazier is a can't-miss prospect, whereas Dennard I think could go either way.

I'm not sure they did know the status of Spence. I think they saw him run around in shorts, but they couldn't be any more certain than us until training camp.

Wasn't Moats a DE in college? I like him as a pass rusher. I'd probably like him inside, too, but with Timmons/Shazier/Spence/Williams, we haven't needed to try. Love the two FA depth signings at OLB. We'd be screwed without them, and now I like where we are.

Yep. Moats was a DE at JMU. He is best known for ending Brett Favre's playing streak.

You know the steelers had to have called the bears to see who they were picking and didn't make a trade offer for Fuller, he's playing really well.

Personally, I was hoping that they would trade DOWN and get Benjamin.
