One positive thing to take away from last sunday in relation to our problems getting by the Patriots is..
The Defense held Travis Kelce to 37 yards.
Some experts say that Kelce is the best TE in the league this year.
Gronk and Edelman have destroyed the Steelers Defense in past years.
It bodes well that we held Kelce in check, maybe with Edelman already out the Steelers can finally keep Gronk in check if he isnt injured by then.
Just cant let Chris Hogan go for 180 this time around.!!!!

Pretty sure Kelce was questionable to play leading up to the game and was not the healthiest. Still great numbers against a top TE.

Holding Kelce down means nothing in regards to Gronk, the Steelers still don't have anyone to cover him.

Brady probably laughs uncontrollably every time he thinks about how we played him defensively in the AFCCG last year.

If Brady was a chief add another 100 yards and multiple tds.

The patriots laugh at us as a whole. We just don't have what it takes to get to him. Even with Woodley and Harrison in their prime, I can only think of one time when we were able to fluster him. Just hope someone else knocks them out.

So much for this thread being a “positive note”.

Positive? A monkey could have coached this team to a 4-2 record. This imo is a SB contending roster screaming for leadership. There are a lot of coaches that would have this team 6-0 at worst 5-1

Sorry but Kelce is no Gronk.

Gronk is hands down the best TE in the league.

Still good that we shut Kelce down, this team has struggled mightily covering TE's in the past. Pass defense is much improved.

    Yeah.

I would have thought beating an undefeated bona fide contender may have been a small positive from the game as well.

"Ve must strive for perfection each and every time"

Now imagine your German flight instructor yelling this while banging on the instrument panel while you are "close" to the right altitude. It can slam a small positive quickly.

Here is a positive thought then a negative one. Steelers finally break the Brady curse and beat him and go on to the SB where Ben has his best SB in beating the Eagles. I'm on cloud nine since I live in eagle land. Ben retires and the Steelers are average for years to come.

We have the corners to run man with the Pats. With the way the Pats line has been playing our defense is going to get after Brady. They are going to smell blood in the water and just attack him. There are a lot of super aggressive defenses he has to face leading up to us. I normally don’t like our chances against them but I think this is our year to beat them.

We say that every year and it's always the same result. Patriots not only win, but dominate on both sides of the ball. Everybody talks about how Brady owns the Steelers D. The Steelers offense never does anything vs. the Patriots D.

No one says you have to be the pooper! Does anyone even say pooper? I guess so, you and I have both used it now. I use it under protest...I think you baited me into it!

I didn’t say that last year. I knew our corners couldn’t hang with Brady and company last year. I thought we could hang with them offensively last year. The Patriots defense is not good this year. They can’t stop anyone.

Their defense - and by “defense” I mean their defense and the replay officials in NY - found a way to stop the Jets. Yeah, I’m still torqued up over that call....

You think Gronk is that much better than Kelce at this point in their careers?

I'm positive that they are playing the bungles this week.

Until they can beat the patriots in the playoffs, all is a moot point. And i'm positive that this team needs to start scoring to match the numbers that are being put up. And i'm positive that they probably will meet the Patriots again in the playoffs this year...whether the outcome is in favor or not hinges on this Offense...

They have had success shutting down Gronk for short periods of time, the bad part is that they didn't capitalize on scoring opportunities that would make Brady look at longer routes to try and catch up. Usually by then They hit that home run pass to Gronk that starts the snowball rolling.

They have managed to shut him down here and there, but his catch percentage vs. Steelers is around 85% (30 receptions, 16+ yards per/rec) in 5 games. That's way too high, compared to around 65% over his career.
