More likely to be a top 5 pick.

I would say 4-13. Depending on how many different QBs we try. 4 wins is in play only because Watt is coming back but that shot in the arm won’t last long. The Browns love to bench all their starters in week 18 and improve the draft position.

Steelers are not the first franchise that have had to take lumps and begin again and surely will not be the last. Many have fallen over the years but they happen to be the latest and will bounce back. Kinda like the stock market vs some quick chit.

It's been the same problems over and over again for the last few years with this organization.

    • We look unprepared against good teams.
    • We play down to bad teams.
    • Situational coaching (play challenges, etc) has been abysmal.
    • Tomlin looks disinterested most of the time.
    • We can't develop DB's and our head coach is a career DB coach.
    • Aside from Boswell, the special teams haven't been good. Mediocre to average punting and piss poor return game.
    • No one seems to be banging down the door to hire Tomlin assistants.
    • FO can't attract top tier coaching talent.
    • Questionable drafting decisions.
I'm hoping that Andy Weidl can fix the talent acquisition problem. Second step is parting ways with Tomlin.

So you are officially predicting they go 4-4. Head into week 18 at 6-10?

I think we need a change here as well, but the fact is the Steelers will NEVER part ways with Tomlin until he is ready to leave. I honestly believe he could have five losing seasons in a row and his seat would be as cool as a well digger’s hind end. But the organization does not need to give Tomlin the keys to the kingdom and it seems that they’ve been trending in that direction. The hire of Omar Khan is indicative of that. He’s a numbers cruncher and a bean counter, not a personnel guy. That tells me that Tomlin will have more say over personnel decisions going forward and that is most disconcerting.

We are definitely in the running for #1 what team are you watching? We have arguably the worst offense in the NFL and our defense without Watt is bottom third. I will say our schedule second half isn’t very difficult so if Watt does come back I could see us win 5 games or so.

I feel they need to go after a stud FA corner. Someone that knows the NFL game and can contribute right away.

I do like that Weidl is on board as well. Solid hire. Look at the Eagles. He was a big part of this teams success. The foundation lies in the trenches. Both need a serious overhaul. First up Offensive Tackle. Then Defensive Tackle. Guard.

This isn't going to be a one year fix.

This observation is why I'm suggesting that Tomlin is about to resign/retire. His heart just doesn't feel in this. You see it in his eyes and in his answers during the post-game pressers.

I say there is about zero percent chance he leaves after the Steelers worst season in recent history. Way to proud for that IMO.

Let's face it, Tomlin has lost his edge, and his message is getting very old. Until the owners, all fans and himself realize this, things will not change. And again Ben carried Tomlin for years, and for anybody that's says anything different does not really understand football. Enough said. It's a shame that we have to rely on his heart just doesn't feel right and for him to resign/retire. This is where good ownership should come in and make the decision for him.

It's not just me and others here saying this, LISTEN to some former Steeler players, Bradshaw, Hodges, Trai Essex, James Harrison, Rocky Bleier and many more. Now even Cowher is talking and already Pickett saying there is no discipline and too many errors. How many times has Claypool and Johnson say we just do what coaches tell us. Come on guys and ownership if don't see the writing on the walls.

The new GM is not a personnel guy, he's a contract/cap specialist. Tomlin unfortunately will be making the draft calls.

Wrong, if this team doesn't improve in 2023 Tomlin will be going into 2024 as a lame duck HC, I don't think Art will give him an extension before then.

Weidl came from the Eagles as a personnel guy, he's the Steelers assistant GM, I expect all three of them to work together.
