Overall, I am not a Tomlin supporter. Obviously. But here are my compliments (I have more than one):

    1. His players enjoy playing for him. That's something.
    2. His teams tend to be mentally tough. There have been games where I thought they'd fold like a cheap lawn chair and yet, they managed to tough a game out and win. (Last week in Cincy was the latest example)
    3. They almost pulled out a win in SB XLV, a game in which they could have easily been blown out. Kudos to Tomlin and staff for adjustments.
    4. The 2013 team looked down and out and STILL Tomlin righted that ship and almost guided them to a post-season.
    5. I have previously berated Tomlin and Colbert for bad drafts. I am starting to walk back those criticisms a little bit.
    6. The 2011 win vs the Pats was a masterful piece of game planning.
    7. Going way back, I have stated (and stand by this) that if Tomlin were let go and went elsewhere, he would be a better coach and make the Steelers look dumb. Tomlin is NOT a "bad" coach.

    :thumbs up:

No coach is perfect, obviously, but I feel like Tomlin has more good qualities than flaws... Yes, the winning % vs. sub .500 teams needs to improve, and he's not the fierce, intimidating coach like Noll and Cowher that Steelers fans like and are used to, but he's a good coach. He still has never had a losing season and is the fastest Steelers coach to 100 wins. And even if we were to get a new coach, who's out there that is available that has proved themselves enough to get a shot with us? I would not feel comfortable getting some nobody when Tomlin is doing well. Besides Gruden, (or Cowher if he would want to come back) I can't think of anyone else. Besides, the Rooneys will never fire him because of the Rooney Rule, and I respect that.

As for Bradshaw, everyone knows how he runs his mouth, and he earned his rights to after his career with the Steelers, so I'm okay with his comments.

I agree. They all coached in completely different eras. I doubt Bill Cowher would do as well in a second stint as HC, for two reasons:

1.) Martyball wouldn't score enough points in this fantasy football era, and

2.) The league wouldn't allow him to run the hard-hitting defense he is famous for. All of his defensive players would be suspended in the first month of the season for KO-ing too many fantasy football point generators.

I'm not a spiritual guy, but I truly believe this is the only bonafide miracle I will ever witness. Tebow beating the most storied franchise in the history of the league in the playoffs and managing to actually look like an NFL QB for one day? It's the only explanation.

Oh, and I think Tomlin's a good coach. 10 years without a losing record is impressive no matter how you slice it.

Year after year we are so undisciplined & lack of fundamentals, I think it starts with the head coach. Really not impressed with Tomlin, all talk no action style. He won the Superbowl with Cowher's team..

Multiple reports of Teams shopping for a WR ...Most sites and pundits expected a break out year for him....Even his QB and his coaches where high on him , I am sure there was a Team who had a need at the position...

I will also add Jones in there maybe could have got a 2nd. for him he is now on the bench ...The point is we always let our guys go for nothing and the Pats trade them for picks, if we desire to be as great as them we need to be bold like them...

Just like I stated before the draft to take the QB and leverage him for more picks as Teams would come and get him...Sure enough it happened so KC missed the boat ....

We are hurt at WR the Pats sign a 1000 yard WR for peanuts again a dropped ball by KC...I could keep going and going , but the point is that KC is not bold enough...

And before that game his GM, JOHN Elway and his coach, JOHN Fox both told him to open it up and don't be tentative about throwing the ball downfield. He threw for exactly 316 yards.

    JOHN. 316. Coincidence?

Maybe Tomlin uses this as motivation and has the team prepared for today's game. We can wish can't we? If they lose this game and blow the season, it won't do much for Tomlin's fan club.

You failed the context measure hard.
Cowher didn't take over a contender, so it's logical to see improvement in the 2nd half of your split. Tomlin took over an aging and capped out contender, necessitating the rebuilding years in the 2nd half of your split

You're inability to grasp the substance I brought is just another notch in your bias belt.

If you start off by discrediting the single greatest achievement a coach can have... you might be a biased fool.

How did the team manage to win 100 games under Tomlin if they were so undisciplined and lacked fundamentals? He helped the team win the SB with Pittsburgh Steelers players. Cowher didn't build any team by himself. Some of you will never understand the dynamics of a well run organization.

Maybe that's why Terry did it. He's as tired as the rest of us of watching Hairball clean Tomlin's clock the last few seasons.:hmm:

I've always said Terry is crazy like a fox!:hehehe:

... I suppose I should add my two cents then.

I have not the foggiest where this whole "Anti-Tomlin" sediment really is hilarious.

This whole viewpoint that Tomlin sucks because of reason a or b is ludicrous. I do not understand as to why Steelers fans; TSF, SteelersDepot, BehindTheSteelCurtain, or otherwise complain at whatever staticstic Tomlin falls short upon and act as if he has done such a terrible job.

Last time I checked, you name me a franchise with three head coaches with 100 or more wins. Before people state "That has nothing to do with Tomlin", you could not be any more wrong. Such success is a testament to the Rooney Family and their ability to acquire coaches who can not only sustain long terms of success, but can bring Super Bowls to the team.

Now, do I currently believe Tomlin is a HOF coach? No..... not yet anyway. Give him a ring or two more and sustain that winning percentage and a bust with a gold jacket will be his.

... However... many of you should know.... even if Tomlin does get inducted, the complaints will continue because of one thing:

    Blame Tomlin!

    Read my thoughts above.

No matter what Tomlin does... he will always, somehow, someway be blamed by those who simply elect to pin problems on Tomlin and only Tomlin.

The crux of the stupidity in the "Tomlin sucks" haters (Bradshaw doofus) position is that in requires the default position of "coaching doesn't matter".

Tomlin has one of the all time best winning percentages in the NFL (among coaches with at least 10 seasons), and 3rd/4th best among active coaches. You simply do. It do that over a decade if you suck.

There are only 2 logical arguments one can make.
    1. Tomlin is a really good coach
    2. Coaching doesn't matter

If you're arguing that some variation of "Tomlin sucks", you're an idiot.

If you are arguing #2, you are wrong

If you acknowledge #1, you're on the correct side of both logic and football smarts
