While that is pretty funny its not really true is it? Didn't like 4 players make it over?

I'm not old enough to know first hand.

It's hard to argue with facts but I'm sure people will.

That's kind of Labriola's joke. But he's pointing out in the article that not a lot of people appreciated it lol.

Can anybody point to what Tomlin has actually done though? 25-87 against sub .500 teams. Defensive + Defensive Back coach for 8 years and it took 9 years to finally develop some DB talent? The countless games blown due to bad time management/timeouts and his decision to go for 2.

Only game I can actually say Tomlin won with his decision making was going for 2 against the Chargers last year but even then Bell got hit 2 yards short of the endzone and made an incredible individual effort. The horrible gameplans early in the year against the Patriots and Ravens.

I just have no clue what he does or brings to the team. Other then being a cool/relatable coach that players like to play for. Other then I'm just not sure what he does. Does anybody know?

And Cowher did it with Noll's players. Who can argue NOD's prowess and skill under center?

Pretty sure he doesn't have 87 losses versus teams that wear shoulder pads, let alone sub 500

I think what he's referring to is that is the collective record of the sub .500 teams we have lost to in recent years. Seems like I read that somewhere or heard it on a sports show or something.

It's not true, lol. Andy Russsell, Ray Mansfield and maybe a couple of other guys made it onto Noll's roster. Noll said he was going to cut most of them when he took over and he did.

He's 100-57 overall, so if the 25-87 thing were true, he'd be 75 and -30 against teams over .500

LOL. The 25-87 is the combined record of some teams we lost to over a 7 year stretch. "Since 2009, the Steelers have 14 losses to teams with a combined record of 25-87" blah blah blah.

Austin coached the steelers for 3 years, his record was pretty dismal, he was 11-28 with 3 ties over that 3 year stretch; in 66 his record was 5-8-1, in 67 4-9-1, 68 2-11-1, so Noll inherited a 2-11-1 team in his first season as head coach, obviously Noll had the hardest job of building a winning team......

Even if the Steelers win the Super Bowl this season you would still find something negative to say about about Tomlin. He also was the HC of 2 DPOY in Polamalu and Harrison. The Steelers weren't going to beat the Patriots with Landry at QB, especially after he threw that int on the first drive that was a 14 point swing.
