Here’s the thing about Kenny, he may not be a franchise QB but he isnt going to suck either. He’ll play well enough and win enough games to keep them invested. Like a Kirk Cousins or Derek Carr level QB.

This is the problem. To me, it's the worst case scenario.

And I know that a lot of people are expecting just this, and that's why there is so little excitement about our new shiny toy.

I believe you're right about KP. I still think that there is a chance he is more, but then again, that won't be determined for some time. By 2024, this will be KPs team or we're back into a QB hunt which we all hope that isn't the case. JMO>

Tomlin’s going nowhere until Tomlin is good and ready. Wouldn’t surprise me to see Rooney extend him this off-season.

Absolutely. You are talking about old style Steeler football. Solid run game, kick butt defense, and consistent ST's will get us back to the promise land. Can KP be the game mgr to orchestrate the offense to get more points than the other team? Yeh, sure, why not. Nothing I've seen so far takes him out of the equation at this point. Can't do much about the coaching aspect and that may be the anchor we're tied to while all of the other parts are trying to line up. Could be a painful and frustrating period but nothing good always comes easy. JMO>

If Tomlin has a losing season in 2023, and 2024 I doubt they will keep him around.

That was the summer of 1969

    The River also caught on fire in 1868, 1883, 1887, 1912, 1922, 1936, 1941, 1948 and 1952

They didn’t fire Bill for having losing seasons.

I seriously doubt they have three losing seasons in a row anyway.

The steelers had make the playoffs in the first 6 years under Cowher(3 AFC title game and 1 SB game),so it would been very too quick to fired him after 2 bad season in 1998 and 1999.The steelers fired their GM after the 1999 season and in 2000,even if they did not make the playoffs, they were much better with a 9-7 record(despite a 0-3 start) and they were back to dominance after that with a 13-3 record in 2001

they sucked in 2000, too, under the wonder boy, Bill Cowher
    they were 5-6 by Thanksgiving.

they did finish strong - with 4 of their last 5 as wins, but that was when the AFCN was an auto 4 wins w Cincy and CLE. 2 of the worst teams in football at that time.

so, Cowher laid 3 non playoff turd seasons in a row, that is when it was TIME to move on. He flopped and flailed with Kordell and Tommy gun for a couple of years and LUCKED into Ben, because he and his neanderthal thinking wanted on OL that year and NOT Ben. He LUCKED OUT and OWES his LEGACY to Ben. Otherwise, he'd be remembered as the choker of 4 home AFCCG's. and choker he was.

Tomlin will have that. This year, next and 2024 - GOOD RIDDANCE i hope once and for all.

In 2000,the AFC central had also the 13-3 Titans and the super bowl champion Ravens.Likely the 2 best team in the NFL in 2000.Overall they finish the season at 9-4 after their 0-3 start
