I seen him make some plays in the acc games. Big motor Cam Heyward clone. I hope the Steelers look hard at this guy. As someone else mentioned he dominated
    the senior bowl!

I used to fall for the trap of wanting 6’ 5” 300 lb guys but there are so few of them that are productive. I just want guys at this point that can two gap and push the pocket. Guys that can stop the run and keep lineman off the linebackers. I’ll take a 6’2” guy as long as he is over 315 lbs. Honestly the heavier the better within reason provided they can still play three downs.

With the Steelers playing a 3/4 they usually go after guys who are 6'3 or taller.

I'm not so sure that we need a DE as much as a DT type. What is the plan for Benton? DE? DT?

I get it but those guys are hard to come by. Honestly though i feel like we play with 2 down lineman more than anything. a beefier guy who is shorter is just fine in that situation.

Don't think Leal struck out though. They were not clear with what they wanted him to be. Had him preparing to sub at OLB the first year.

Boy, if Fiske could have a career like Cam and we drafted him, I would be one happy camper.

Good thing is he has the length, and developing pass rush, to play outside, and the strength to take on double teams inside. That gives them flexibility when finding someone.

There is just so many positions to fill between CB, S, Slot CB, ILB, DT, C and RT. Add WR if we trade DJ.

In the Steelers defense the DE is listed as DT.

Man that Fiske dude is growing like a weed. :)

Everything I am seeing is a late 1st round pick now. https://www.nflmockdraftdatabase.com/players/2024/braden-fiske

So, put Fiske in my Pile of Players the Steelers may want to use their 2025 1st round pick to trade up for. Although my money still says the Steelers will move up for Frazier with their 2025 1st round pick.

I hope you don’t actually put money on the Steelers trading their 2025 1st rounder to move up from the 2nd to 1st this year for a center.

So you're saying that we will pick at our normal spot and trade next year's first to get another first rounder this year?

Yes. That is the only way I see us getting both Mims/Latham and JPJ.

Our 2nd rounder(390) and next years 1st rounder (580) actually get us to the #17 pick (970). Our 2nd rounder and next years 2nd rounder (265) gets us to 28/29 territory. Our 2nd and our 1st 3rd (170) gets us to 34. Our 2nd and our 2nd 3rd is #40. Our 2nd and our 4th is #45.

Based on math, sure. Still need a team to want to move out of those spots, and actually care about "equal value" for the pick math. Would you trade our pick for a middle of the pack second rounder this year and a second rounder next year? Nope. Would you have traded the pick that got Peezy Jr for a late 2nd and a 3rd? Not likely. I think it would be tough for us to find a trade partner that wants to deal with next years pick unless its a team that is slated to be bad and they own a late 20's pick.

Fiske isn't worthy of trading up for in the first round.
