I saw this stat this morning and found it depressing. The Steelers are the only team with a 1,000 yard passer, a 400 yard receiver and a 300 yard rusher going into week 5.

Actually, glass half full guy that I am, I find that encouraging.

If the knuckleheads stop beating themselves, they'll do pretty damn good!

I have been pissy all week thinking about the fact that we should at least be 3-1. Hate to see this season turn into a "if we would have only won this game we would have been in the playoffs" year.

5th in yds per game, 13th in points per game. With a shaky defense, this needs to get better.

Unfortunately, I've been getting used to that over the last several years. Talk about depressing. :sorry:

    Depressing Factoid II:

In his career, Ben has had 6 games where he threw for 300 yds, 3TDs and no Ints. The Steelers are 3-3 in those games.

I find that stat simply amazing given the continuous lousy play of the Oline. If they ever get it together they will have ample opportunities to put up 30+ points a game.

Depressing? I find that encouraging and continues to build the case for Todd Haley as the next head coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers. ;)

In all seriousness, this is something to build on. It's the defense that I'm concerned with. It's time to get Shamarko, Tuitt, McCullers involved in the game plan!

But they can't get a first down when they need it.

How many yards of penalties do they have?

My only problem with B A as our coordinator lingers in the players coach theme of things. He had some bone headed play calls as well over the years, and I can't imagine any team doesn't have the same. I think he was overly buddy with Ben on the pampering side of things but at the same time, never really let Ben grab the reins. Weird but he never seemed to grab him by the face mask when it was needed either. I don't know, he's done some good and impressive things after getting the boot, but then again his reins aren't here anymore. Kind of makes me wonder if the staff here have as much control as we think honestly.

This stat from Scott Kucsmar's Twitter is depressing as well:

The Steelers have allowed game winning points in the last 40 seconds 11 times since 2007.

Ya'll can just stop now. Its Friday and that means only about 2 days to get your minds back up. Just cause your glass is half full, and there's a crack in it.. seal it and look forward to the game!!

What people keep forgetting is that for the most part, in order for a team to put up 30+ points, they need help from the D and special teams. Pure and simple. Without turnovers or special teams returns to get into good field position, an offense can't do it alone, constantly having to go 80+ yards on every possession. This is what we've seen the past three years or so. The offense puts up yards, but few points in relationship.

Exactly. Sacks are always a concern (3rd highest right now), but field position is a monumental concern. The Steelers are 4th worst in terms of starting field position this year behind the Saints, Jags, and Rams.

it's not where you start but where you finish. we need more TD's plain and simple, and I don't care how we get them, just get them. foot on the gas pedal and don't take it off until we see 0:00 on the clock.

use the weapons that are proven, AB, Bell and Heath until they stop them. 3rd and 5, you go to heath. ben and heath are our most experienced players and have been doing it for a lot of years together. that who's hands you put it in, not on your rookie punters foot. foot on the gas mentality.

Lot easier finishing when you start at your 40 or 50 then at your 10. ST and defense need to step it up. Can't believe I've reached a time when I'm calling out the defense

So when we play the Jags this weekend, something's got to give... either that or each team will have a bunch of 60 yard punts.
