    a couple weeks ago:

this team was rolling and on the verge of catching a banged up Ravens team. then Ben gets hurt and the offense looks about as bad as ive ever seen it and the division is probably hopelessly out of reach.

    a couple weeks ago:

we looked to be loaded at rb and we were all wondering what should they do with their riches at rb. B Batch has since been released and resigned to the practice squad. today their 4 rbs each had a fumble and 6 total and they looked like maybe the worst rb group in the league.

    a couple weeks ago:

some people around here were giving Tomlin coach of the year. now a lot of people around here want him gone.

    a couple weeks ago:

the defense although ranked #1 in the league didnt look as good as their ranking. now they are looking pretty dominant. they are shutting qbs down and teams are struggling to score.

    a couple weeks ago:

most people felt that the offense was this close to putting it all together. now they are down to their 3rd qb. they have lost their #1 and #4 wr's. Plax is a Steeler again and they signed some qb off the street.

    moral of the story:

wait a couple weeks and everything will change again. all is not lost. Ben will be back and although the cushion they had for a wildcard is all but gone, the season is not over. this is still a pretty good team. when your starting your 3rd string qb, all 4 of your rb's forget to hold onto the ball all in the same game, your playing with a bit of a make shift wr group, your oline is banged up and just about everything that could go wrong went wrong in the last couple weeks and yet they had a chance to win both games tells me one thing. this team isnt as bad as some would think today.

everyone take a deep breath and lets hope Ben, AB, Troy, Woodley, Colon, Adams are all back next week and then lets see how they look.

    What's your point?

j/k. Appreciate your optimism and you're right, it can get better. Then again, it could still get worse... Just sayin'

This would be the best time to turn things around going into Bmore with all the starters back

Yep, I pointed that out in another thread. Everyone forgets we were riding a 4 game wining streak, then Ben got hurt and phhth, poopsville. It will get better when Ben is back.

right now they still control their own destiny, but that is fading in a hurry.

this team is very reliant on Ben and the fact that they do not have a servicable backup has become very apparent.

Really, we've lost our #1, #2 and #4 receivers, as Wallace is now a lost cause.

a 4 game streak that included 4 teams that were getting beat by everyone at the time. 2 losses to subpar teams. a very close win over another subpar team. a butt whoopin to a good team to start. a real butt whooping to a divisional subpar team. also beat by the team we were trying to catch at our house. this really isn't where we need to be. i'm not feeling real confident after that 4 game winning streak with all the other games iffy at best. we have way too much talent on this team in the skill spots to not be producing wins. this team may be getting away from MT, quickly. i'm still not overly comfortable with the offense this year. even with ben at the helm, we are not consistant. not impressed so far with the new guy.

we got 5 to play, so we'll play them and see where we fall. that's all we can do right now. who can play plays.

Nice to be optimistic about Ben being back, but I dont share your optimism, mainly because Ben has two injuries both related to his throwing motion: I know of one other QB who has the same displaced rib injury, and that is the cardinals Kevin Kolb, he has been out a month and is not expected to be ready to play for another 2-3 weeks: So his total down time will be 6-7 weeks due to the rib injury, so Ben has that injury plus a shoulder problem and I keep hearing you all saying Ben will be back in a week or two, that doesnt make sense based on the medical facts, plus I dont want Ben back playing if he is throwing with pain, thats a mistke if they clear him to play in pain, we saw that movie last year when he was playing when he couldnt walk, let the man heal up even if it takes the rest of the season..........

    Oh yeah?

    A couple weeks ago:

We lost to Oakland and the sky started to fall.

    A couple weeks ago:

We lost to Tennessee and the sky started to fall faster.

    A couple weeks ago:

Ben nearly got killed by KC and we nearly lost that game against a 1-X team.

    A week ago:

Baltimore marched into our house and beat us down while battering Lefty.

    Yesterday:

We committed almost double digit turnovers against the Cleveland Browns.

It's been an up and down year.

I agree with the last line of that moral though.
