John Baker made one of the most famous tackles in NFL history. He made the tackle on the famous photo of YA Tittle on his knees with blood running down his face at old Pitt Stadium.

Dan James was the center for the 1957 Ohio State National Champs. That team had a great defense led by Jim Marshall and Dick Lebeau. He was our starter at Left Tackle for 7 years protecting the blind side for Bobby Layne, Ed Brown and Bill Nelson.

Seeing John Hadl in the picture reminded me of some of the gunslingers they had back in the old AFL. Hadl, Blanda,Namath, Dawson, Lamonica and Kemp and probably some others I have forgotten.

My guess is that you'd be on here plenty, complaining during that losing season. Or would you be the optimist and cheer about the high draft picks the next season changing everything, just like a Browns fan?

The Steeler who wore #73 that had the most Pittsburgh name ever was Max Kielbasa who actually played for the Steagles. Kielbasa was another player back in the day that never left the area. Played HS in Brownsville, played for Duquesne in college and drafted by the Steelers.
