i was talking to a buddy of mine at tennessee today. this bray thing is pissing me off. local news is reporting that he will be our third pick if there. anyway he told me that a guy close to mathieu said he will be the steelers 5th round pick. anyone have a problem if this happens?

Yes dude has mad baggage and I don't know that his game will translate to the NFL. He is very small and he has been out of football for a year. If we are going to take a shot on a player in the fifth I think it should be rontez miles who is slated to go right around our fifth round pick.

Mathieu is a 3rd - 4th round pick with 1st round talent. I'm serious about that. Throw out the height/weight/speed. Watch the tape. He plays the game FAST because he has a complete feel for it. His instincts and ability to make game changing plays out of nowhere are the best that I have seen in a prospect since Troy came into the league. On the field, he's a special playmaker, and I have heard nothing to indicate that he's a bad teammate in the locker room. The question marks all relate to his off-the-field issues. It's all about the weed. If we can get him in the 5th I'm all over him. Maybe even the 4th. However, like I said he's a 3rd - 4th rounder at the latest. Someone will take him, and he will be a player if he can keep his nose clean.

Me too, considering last years draft picks trouble with law. Although
I am intrigued with the Honey Badgers skill set, even though he is TINY,
I could see a dangerous return person in him, of course if he could stay clean.

I definitely think we will think twice before selecting a player with multiple infractions against him. Someone will make the Honey Badger a 2nd round pick, which is too risky for me.
