Maybe not if Tuiit comes back strong, And Wormley produces
They hardly play with a " traditional " NT or a " traditional other " ILB ... We'll be fine

If he is out there on third down, they will. My point is that having Barron out there wasn't much better, certainly not enough to make up for the deficiency in the run defense. If they are smart, Williams won't be out there much for third downs when it is a passing situation. It will be an extra defensive back, with Edmunds taking on Barron's old responsibility. That probably means using Sutton or Hilton as a deep safety unless the team makes another move for help at safety.

Why are you listing Wormley as a nose tackle? The way you were breaking this down, he belongs with the defensive tackles based on his size and experience. The veteran who should be listed as a nose tackle is McCullers. Maybe Wormley can make that switch, but Alualu is the one better equipped for that transition.

If Heyward is a defensive tackle, so are Tuitt, Mondeaux, Buggs and Alualu.

Hayward and Tuitt both played DT and DE in college. Alualu played NT in tampa. Wormley is listed as a NT on the roster. As long as any of them can manhandle a center and have to be double teamed they will be effective. It doesn't have to be a cat guy staying stationary to make it work. Quickness and penetration are quite effective too. Casey wasn't always 350 when he first arrived. He was 315. Hargraves wasn't that big either, he was drafted for quickness first like casey. They may be fine with fresh bodies being subbed in to wear out linemen as the game wears on.

Actually the run defense was pretty good. We were 7th in the league.

I don't have a problem with using any of those guys on the nose. I just thought it was odd to list Wormley as a nose tackle, but not McCullers.

Williams was a part of that. It's not as if he wasn't playing. He's a far better run defender than Barron.

I could see the Steelers using more of a 4-3 at times, even though no one will call it that, with Watt or Dupree having their hand on the ground, and Bush being on the outside. This way you can have Heyward, Tuitt, and Alalu, your best three defensive linemen on the field, and none of them are solely responsible for the middle.

He was so bad that the team that used a first-round pick on him cut him before his rookie contract was up. Lynch has thrown passes in the NFL. He just did it with another team.

Love to review this come January and see how many are left standing. Heck it will be cool to see how many are there the first game. I would think most.

This is all reasonable to me except for AV as most overrated. I think that title goes solidly to Pouncey. He was awful last season.

Agreed. Age and injuries are adding up. He leaves with Ben. It's the reason a bunch of us wanted a Center in the draft.
