5 Steelers Selected To The Pro Bowl

Couldn't agree more about DeCastro and Heyward - if the Steelers do get knocked out early I wouldn't be surprised if one of these guys got an invite due to other guys not going because of injury or still playing. I am happy for Timmons, a guy who has been underrated for some time.

 

Sorry, I hate to say it but Kevin Huber is much better.

 

Didn't say he was, my point is the probowl has a long tradition of picking guys based on what they did in years past and not entirely on their performance in the current season, in the case of Reed his better years were long past and he was still getting pro-bowl consideration. They were sending centers and DT based solely on name recognition for years. They were sending Wilfork for just that reason, he is a Pats player and his numbers were ok but nothing spectacular but he was picked.

 

Troy definintely fell into this category on multiple occasions. He hasn't been PB caliber in years and once, IIRC, missed a significant amount of time and still made it....hence my original joke.

 

I cant see where any of these guards that were selected had a better year than Decastro:

Guard: Jahri Evans, Saints; Mike Iupati, 49ers; Kyle Long, Bears; Zack Martin, Cowboys; Josh Sitton,Packers; Marshal Yanda, Ravens.
