As the draft is a mere 45 days away, the questions and issues surrounding this team begin to build. The shock to some of cutting 92 will linger for days, and only time will tell if it was a good move? Remember, Harrison played on one bad knee nearly all of the season, and he came on late in the year, so to cut him is a gamble. JW now has his chance to show what he has, or doesn't have, but now one wonders if the FO won't go after one of the bigger named LBs come next month? Come Tuesday, things will move rapidly. look for Wallace to be bound for Miami by Friday. I also predict Lewis will be resigned well before then as some of you have already pushed the panic button on him leaving, but he is not going anywhere! If Lewis left that would open another hole to fix on this " Steelers Dam" and we don't have the money or picks to do so. Signing Gay again was nothing more that a vet signing to shore up the Nickel slot DB and add to, on paper, a pretty good backfield when healthy. We are nowhere near finished in cutting players just yet either? Colon is not a done deal here, Mendy Big Snack, Foote, and several others will be waiting for Monday, and what scares me is the offer they made for Sanders. Sanders has shown some flashes, and his offer is nothing that can't be bought. Imagine losing another WR this week? Still believe they draft a WR but a play could be made for Boldin IMO. Also, complain all you want about Mendy, but you think Dwyer is the answer? not even close! Money is tight but we can still move money around with Woodley who could do his part to restructure. When FA opens we may not snag anyone the first couple days, but I just get a feeling the FO is gonna move on at least to plug a hole we have. Also, with money being tight I could see the FO trade up in the draft if a player like Jones is near the 10 spot? Maybe this is the year we package a couple picks and only leave NYC with 3-4 draft picks? Regardless, 45 days of problems started yesterday.

I do not see any shock in the releasing of Harrison...it's been a rumor since this time last year. Even if he played lights out last year...theres a high chance he is still done. Remember they cut Porter too. I too think (and hope) Lewis is staying. Mendy/Hampton/etc I'm not worried about them, they are FA's so whatever...they won't be back. They made the right tender for all the players tendered including Sanders...plus they didnt have much money to go higher. Boldin is NOT coming to Pittsburgh...if he's cut (and not re-signed for less)...theres a good chance he's done (as he's said so himself). If I'm wrong...then I will gladly eat crow...but I don't see it. And it'd be nice to see a few mid level nice FA signings to fill some holes...especially depth...or possibly fill a starting role (Larry Grant?). And its probably not worth what they'd have to give up to move up those 7 spots in the first...especially when this draft is deep in rounds 2-4.

I don't see anyone in this draft worth moving up to get. We have to remember we only have 7 picks. Possibly 8 with a compensatory pick. There is so much value in later rounds that given up draft picks for one player in my opinion is ill advised.

Dude get off Woodley, he was never at risk of getting cut. Show me where they were thinking of cutting him.
