That is just to big not to take the risk. Tuitt should know if he touched it or not.

My mistake above. I didn't realize that was reviewable.

LOL I do notice the nfl refs throw flags well after an infraction. It’s ridiculous sometimes. As a fan sometimes I wonder what the hell the call was and where.

    Flag comes out of nowhere.

I'm not so sure about that. I think they called the contact as the ball arrived, not the contact before the throw. The contact before the throw should have been a hold.

I heard it on SNR after the game. They also knew that a tipped pass can be challenged and reviewed, so I'm going to go their analysis.;+)

Not trying to argue just trying to understand. So you are saying that they determined PI a split second it took for the ball to leave Brees hand to Tuitts arm? If the contact was made before the throw it would of been holding. They ruled PI and that makes the holding call instead of PI on McDonald even worse because the ball was clearly on its way.

Watch the rotation of the back of the football after it passes Tuitts arm and also watch the trajectory of the ball how it goes back towards the receiver instead of out in front of him like it was intended. The tip clearly lead to Haden getting there a little early.

I thought you could chuck receivers within the first 5 yards?

According to the explanation I heard, yes.
I'll see if I can find it and listen again, or post the audio.

That would make the officials way more observant than they were all game:smiley1:.

Not with the ball in the air that I guess from what I heard is the explanation on the PI. Evidently they ruled PI in the time it took to leave Brees hand to hitting Tuitts elbow guard. It's more likely they didn't acknowledge the tip at all thus making it PI anyway.

I already acknowledged that I had the part about the review incorrect. The rest is flat-out wrong.

Yup. As I wrote earlier, the officials blew the call on that one.

Oh so it's not just me that sees it. Oh and Tuitt is also saying he tipped it on Twitter

He definitely tipped it. The Steelers got screwed on that one as they were screwed many times in the game.

So apparently the league reviewed it and said it was not tipped. After the game I mean. I saw this on the Extra point aftershow thingy.

Does that mean I get my homer label removed?
what would you expect them to say? Typical damage control.....

    He's a bird brain.

He should have thrown the red flag...just to delay play longer (inside two mins)to see if the booth would take a god damn look.

But hey..they had many other chances to win.

    Fumbles fumbles fumbles.
Let's take punt at the world's worst time.

WTF...the fake punt they have a player sprint IN motion out of the backfield...all that did was draw attention that something might be up.

    Dumb dumb dumb...

    And moee dumb.

Just remember...someone is getting paid a lot of millions per year to coach this team.

If ever feeling down on yourself. ...just think well at least I'm not Tomlin.

That's a close call on the tipped pass, it does look like it took on a little extra wobble. If I was a replay official I'm not sure I would call it a tip unless there were better angles to view it from.

Fwiw, they routinely have DHB in motion on punts. Keeps him from being immediately double-teamed off the line.

ive never seen dhb in motion from the backfield all year, what games are you watching, of course the ball was tipped, you can see the trajectory change.

From the gunner position,no? Not inside. I think Dangerfield was the guy in motion from the inside which was a tell for the fake.
