A question I have regarding the kickoff after the GW TD pass to the wild thing Vaughn.

Now I’m not sure if this was discussed already or not. I reread the end of the game day thread and didn’t see it. A little context, I was on vacation last week. My DVR was apparently not set. So, I had to wait for the NFLN replay to record it. Then it took me several days to watch it with how busy I am right now. But I digress.

Here’s my question, why didn’t they squib kick it? Did Tomlin and Danny Smith not watch the end of the Bills Chiefs playoff game?

With three seconds they may have burned the clock out or forced a run back attempt.

 

I guess because it's a preseason game.

So, do you agree or disagree that would be the right call? I suppose there’s more chance at injury and the kicker did kick it through the end zone. I think there was a roughing the passer penalty that was enforced.

 

I don't agree, or disagree. I believe because of it being preseason they have specific things they wanted 2 see on special team....That's all....Now if it was the regular season....then I may agree.

 

In the Army, we say train the way you fight. Which is what I thought Tomlin was doing when he lost the review on the bad spot. So, given that, maybe he’s like his College buddy in Buffalo

 

Or they’re just trying to evaluate players

they actually talked about this topic during the broadcast on Saturday. They mentioned intentionally kicking the ball short so they could evaluate players on special teams
