Great point. I questioned does he know another defense that he can use? And if he does (which I'm pretty sure) you just can't install it midseason. We have to many new players that are just grasping his zone blitz scheme.

I agree with the zone blitz scheme has run it's course. Cardinals and Packers are having issues with it as well but could be using some variation of it.

His reputation is keeping him employed right now. Anyone else would be asked to retire a long time ago.

I wanted to add something to this. He's developed players before. Greg Lloyd was drafted. Jason Gildon was drafted, Joey Porter was drafted. Kirkland, Olsasky(sp) both were drafted. They wasn't household names when they came in the league. What's your theory?

We all know the definition of insanity, right? I've seen plenty of teams improve from coaching changes at the coordinator position. Sometimes it just gets old. If these players love him so much and it's not his fault lke they say, they better start performing or all good things come to an end.

Those were very good players and I believe we have talented players now. We seemed to have a better defensive backfield with playmakers like Woodson, Lake, Darren Perry, Willie Williams, DJ Johnson and others during the tenure of most of the players you mention. The zone blitz was also a relatively novel concept during that era as well. Not really a theory, just an opinion.

Dennard was who I was hoping for.....should have been more specific. I would take all the above over Gay and Allen as well.

What I don't understand is that why the team thinks Gay can cover as a CB. Gay plays okay at an extra DB in nickel or dime but he is still bad as a corner and one on one coverage. I sat in the end zone in our last Super Bowl against the Packers and watched play after play of him getting burnt at corner and unless we get him help over the top we will get killed there.

And Allen he just seems to be getting worse and looks like he lost all confidents in coverage.
