24 hrs from now

we will be talking about the win and moving on to Denver or the loss and next years draft pick

 

I live in Las Vegas, NV (aka nowhere near Pittsburgh). I went to the grocery store to pick up some lunch today. While I was there, Renegade was on. I'm not superstitious, but I think we'll be talking about Denver.

 

Last game I went to was Tampa Bay last year. The game before that was in three Rivers. The song then was Still the One by Orleans

Oh, now I gotta play a polka! Yes, I know how to polka! I have a friend who is a traveling nurse. She was in North Carolina, met a great guy and they became engaged. She had a Polish wedding and when we went out on the dance floor to polka, the southerners looked at us like we were nuts. I looked at them like they were from another planet. It didn't take them long to join the fun, though. We just had to get them drunk enough.

 

Lady Steel. You my wife's sister? She is a polka girl too

 

Maaaaybe. I have two sisters.

 

Just showed my wife our conversation. She said if you like to polks, you're good with her!

I grew up in Leetsdale down the river from the point abt 13 miles. Dad belonged to the Civic Club there, My mom baked bread and sold it there once every 2 weeks. Fridays they had a polka band. An old guy named Mike, used a cane to walk. He would show up at the club on Fridays, throw his cane in the corner (i think he was 80 something then) then dance the polka with any woman who would dance with him till abt midnight. Then pick up his cane and limp home. He was a cool old guy.

 

This is truely a bold statement if ever I read one

 

Actually, 24 hours from now I will either be talking about the win, or I will have to censor myself for a while.

 

I know we have a few members who live in England and are six hours ahead of us, making it almost midnight over there. Game should be over by now. Did we win guys???

 

Well I'm as superstitious as they come. I don't know if any of you guys/gals remember my post last week about the Buffalo Bills license plate frame....well anyway. I went to my 10 year olds BBall game last nite at a school that he doesn't attend and I saw that the schools mascot was a tiger(Bengal) ..damn .so i had to head out today looking for a sign to counteract that one....still with me. Already long story short I took my wife to Marshalls to go shopping...yeah I know who in their right mind initiates a clothes shopping trip with their wife....anyway clear across the parking lot on the way in the store I caught a fleeting glimpse of a woman wearing a Steeler visor ,mind you I'm in NY so Steeler gear isn't that common and who the hell wears a visor in January . That had the be the sign I/we were looking for.

 

I have prayed and will not be watching the game. I will be trusting God Almighty to lead the Steelers to Victory!! His Will be Done.
