If the draft started today, we wld pick at the # 22 spot, With us sitting at this spot, there is not much chance of us picking an impact player here, so no choice but to win out and pick at 32 instead:cool:

Yeah, that seems to be the trend lately. Mid pack picks. I mean, I guess that means we weren't horrible but not a super bowl contender either.

Alan Fancea, Heath Miller, Santonio Holmes might disagree with you. You can get an impact guy later in the round. You can get a crappy bust too.

I disagree with the original post. You can get an impact player anywhere in the draft (like AB in the 6th round). What you miss out on are the elite prospects - some (many) of whom don't pan out any better than late round prospects. The higher rated prospects have a better chance of being standout players, but I don't think the long run difference between top 10 picks and bottom 10 (of round 1) picks is very significant for positions other than QB, LT and maybe true man to man shutdown corners.

Did we trade up for Santonio Holmes? That's completely slipped my memory...

Drafting at anything less than the 32 spot is for LOSERS!

These guys were picked at #22 also, Johny Manziel, Brandon Weedon,Brady Quinn,JP Losman,:lolol: All i was trying to say in this post was since we are not getting za high pic, lets win out and not just be content with drafting in the mid to late pics
