At least Suwinski is showing a pulse. He looks really comfortable at the plate. Looks to be in good shape as well.

Ok so the Pirates made history yet again. They tied the 1924 Pirates by being walked off for their first 3 losses of the season!!! Keeping it in the family

OK, I was filled with faux optimism (or some mind altering substance) - I now change my prediction from 162-0 to 1-161. And this is with a brand new hitting coach, former Bucco Matt Hague. Guess coaching changes a good team doesn't make.

Then I'm sure you'll love this one::)

The Los Angeles Dodgers are off to a roaring start as defending World Series champions, and with that has come making MLB history.

The Dodgers are the first team to ever start a season 5-0 while also scoring at least 30 runs, drawing a minimum of 20 walks, hit 10 home runs, have their pitchers combine for at least 55 strikeouts and not commit any errors.

Ha ha. You know I dislike the Blue Crew as much as Santee loathes the Chargers, and he loves the Dodgers. And while I love statistics (used to gobble up The Sporting News each week for it's statistics, long before the word wide web and probably the pyramids?) but hate the silly and ridiculous "headline" type statements that sport writers toss out there like - "The Pirates haven't lost a walk off game since........since yesterday!"

I think Skenes is pitching game 3 of this series. I was sure his nutbagness would tell them to save him for the home opener. It's best he skips the Yankees.

I can't see Shelton and some of the coaches lasting until May 1st. When effort drops off, you have to make changes.
Right now, I don't think any position player save Reynolds, could be a starter on another MLB team, let alone a contender.

Nutting will have to clean house come the end of the season. The downside to that is he then has to hire new people, and his track record for hiring good baseball people is about the same as the efforts to find Bigfoot.

That’s not true. There are allegedly pictures of Bigfoot and somebody may actually find him one day.

The Pirates surprised me with their actions: Jason Delay DFAed, Bednar sent to Indy, Harrington called up. I didn’t imagine they would make such bold moves (well, bold for the Pirates) so early. Well, we now get to see what Harrington can do. I think if they are not afraid to do this kind of thing this year, Bae may be elsewhere soon.

Have no idea why they brought Shelton back, I wouldn’t let him coach a little league team.
Same with Bednar , he would get shelled against little league teams.
Every year, I am optimistic, last year it lasted a few months. This year, they probably won’t see .500 the rest of season. And its only the first week of the season

Bye Bednar. He is too busy eating sandwiches than pitching.

Our shiny new pitcher having a rough go. 6-0

Our offense is, of course, abysmal. I'll tell ya, Bart stinks, Pham is long gone, Kiner-Falefa is a never was journeyman, Valdez and Hayes, c'mon. This is their freakin lineup?! I hate this team more every year. Yet, I keep watching.

This team looks really putrid. The worst team that I can think of, the 62 Mets, did not exceed .500 at any time during the season. The Pirates were at .500 after game 2 of the season. Will that be the high water mark?
