if the Pirates do not sign Paul Skenes to long term deal and soon--- all--- the Pirate fans need to tear down the ballpark and boycott the team get rid of Hayes free up money---> sign him before it's too late I don't even care what they do with Jared Jones, but you must sign Skenes.

 

Skenes is what Kenny Pickett should have been but nope.

Nice that they made .500. I think I predicted that they would not see .500 after late June.
I have no idea why Sewerinski is on the team Taylor would be an excellent late inning defensive replacement but nothing more than that. If they get just one decent hitter in the OF they might have a shot at a wild card. And I actually like their chances in a sudden death game, because of their pitching.
Braxton Ashcraft doing well in a small sample at Indy. If someone would give them a decent bat for Sewerinski and Ortiz or Gonzalez, then bring Ashcraft up, and things work out, they could do well (by Pirates’ standards).

 

You got to have more faith, the more faith we all have, maybe we can will the Pirates to a playoff spot!

I feel old. Jackson Holliday’s grandfather Ken grew up across the street from me.
I would trade Solometo for Jackson Holliday. The O’s probably wouldn’t, though.

I looked on an Orioles forum. They were actually discussing Holliday for Skenes, not Jones, and 85% of them said they would not do it, their logic being that Holliday will play every day and Skenes only every fourth day. Also, Skenes will probably have an arm injury requiring TJ, and miss a year.
The discussion started in the spring, when neither had yet made MLB.

 

Intelligent organizations utilize what ballplayers can do, and don’t try to make them do what they can’t. Taylor would be an excellent late inning defensive outfielder, but not more. I have seen enough to say that he ain’t gonna provide enough offense to be in there every day.

It's sad that we are happy for a .500 team. although that does put them in the thick of the 3rd wild card spot. But geeze it would be great to see us playing for a division lead.

If we were a money team .500 would piss me off but with 29 lowest payroll in MLB I'm happy. If we take 2 of 3 from the Phillies after the break I might start believing in miracles. And I'm counting on you to bring us home a winner when you go see them.
