You're sounding like a broken record James. Oh wait - it is a broken record and Groundhog Day melded together except even Bill Murray can't change their ongoing repetitious fate.

At least the Cubs and Reds still suck worse (for now).

I bet Bob and his daughters are rubbing their greedy little hands over our starters. Few years down the line they will be beautiful trade bait and cash considerations.

I am watching the play by play of tonight’s game online. It actually looks like this could end up a double no hitter! Not because they are pitching like Koufax vs. Ryan, but because both teams’ hitting is so awful.

Agree. We are not seeing .500 and it's sad that is all we have to hope for. I live in Philly fandom and they are having yet another amazing season. I've lived here 90% of my life and I'm always asked why I just don't support their team. Never ever could I do it. I may have lived most my life in Red and Green country but I bleed black and gold for life.

I swore I would not listen to the game tonight but I did check the play by play. They are up 5-0 in the third, and Rahdy stole a base? What, did I fall into another universe somehow? One in which the Pirates don’t suck as bad?

And Keller pitched himself out of a really bad jam. Impressive so far, 6-0 Bucs.

One good thing about this starting rotation is that is makes the long losing streaks we have become accustomed to a lot less likely.
    Come on, Braxton Ashcraft!

Power hitter Jason Delay with a solid batting average of .148 smacks a double to score 2 and them battling Bucs go up 6-1.

    Su-suck-ski still sucking it.

Bryan Reynolds is having the best June ever in MLB history. Would be nice to see him carry it through

When I saw this I got so excited. I knew I should have checked the standings. I relied on my old head. Thanks for giving me a day to enjoy being only 2 games under .500. I'll be wearing my Buc hat with pride.

OK, now I know we are only 2 under with 16 games before ASB. I'm revising my prediction. We will be 6 games under at the ASB.

Only "soft" team we have next 16 games are the White Sox in Chicago. Braves, Brewers and Cardinals who are making a move. All tough series for our boys.

In a world where Rahdy stole a base, anything is possible.
Off today, who pitches against the Braves tomorrow?

TBD is going game 1 and he is very solid.;)

Seriously, I think maybe Jones??? I'd say Ortiz is a starter now. I sure do like our starters.

Talking NLC. The Brewers got the lead but their record against teams over .500 is 1 game under .500. If history is anything to go by watch them damn Cardinals. They will add to make a run.

Bright side, we have the same record as the defending NL Champions.

Hey Rollers. while BR is doing great this month and I'm loving it, don't think "best ever June in MLB history" is quite accurate. Other than the current hitting streak leader, he is behind several other current MLB players for June 2024 so far and possibly won't even win NL Player of the Month. Not even sure how his stats line up with history but I'd think that Ted Williams, Stan Musial, Joe Dimaggio and others would have been more proliferate in June and well beyond.

    See this article: https://pittsburghbaseballnow.com/b...ne-but-needs-more-to-win-player-of-the-month/

Oh no Steel, not Them Bullpen Dudes again!
If the 70s Pirates had starters like this they would have won 120 games.

I know the Pirates stink and have done so for a long time, but they are fixable at this point. Bae and Davis are both hitting very well at Indy. Each have good average and OPS. I say they are the CF and C until they show they are not. Get a full time Henry Davis coach to work with his defense.
With those two, and Braxton Ashcraft in the rotation, this could be a fair club. And these are players you don’t have to acquire.
