Found 2 sources. Looks like Bumpus Jones (what a name) in 1892 did it in his first game and start. Guess the other 3 did some relief for their first games. Wasn't Bumpus Ralphy's neighbor with the dog in Christmas Story?

    1. Only one pitcher in history has thrown a no-hitter in his Major League debut, and it happened more than 130 years ago. On Oct. 15, 1892, a 22-year-old Reds right-hander by the name of Bumpus Jones (given name: Charles) blanked the Pirates on the final day of the National League season.

    2. Twenty-five MLB rookies have pitched a no-hitter since 1901. Four pitchers have thrown a no-hitter in their first major league start; two others have done it in their second major league starts. Bumpus Jones of the Cincinnati Reds threw a no-hitter on October 15, 1892, in his first major league game.

Fun factoid for ya. MLB has had only two guys with last name Moyer. Ed Moyer who died Nov. 18th, 1962 and Jamie Moyer who was born Nov. 18th, 1962.

Yep, exciting times in the Burgh! Go Pornstache!!!!!
Unfortunately the weather shows a 78% chance of rain at game time. I will skip this.

Big deal;) I'm way more impressed with a guy on LSD throwing a no-no. I actually watched that game. I had skipped school and was at a friends house and we had it on. After the 5th-6th inning we realized a no-no was possible. It was a double header against Padres in San Diego. I think we only scored a few runs. Your bestest buddy hit a Home Run that game. Mr. Willie (don't shake hands) Stargell.

Thanks to social media a few years back my friend found me after like 50 years apart. We both remembered that day and he said we were just as high as Doc that day. I'm worried I've been high ever since;)

LOL! Wasn't there also an outfielder who claimed (after he retired) that he had taken a leak in every outfield in the league DURING GAMES! Then again, Norman Bates did a pretty convincing job portraying bipolar Jimmy Piersall who ran the bases in the right direction, but backwards to celebrate his 100th career homer. What a colorful sport.

Another fun fact I am stealing. Ken Griffey Jr. and Stan Musial were born in Donora, PA. 20-25 miles outside Pittsburgh. Both were born Nov. 21st as was another Pittsburgh dignitary.* Western Pa. has produced some big name Pro's over the years.

    *That would be me:)

Here is a cool one. Sure you remember Cal Ripken Jr. and his consecutive games played streak. Well during that time Don Mattingly, a Yankee great and Kirby Puckett a Twin great played their entire careers.

I remember before game 7 of a WS the Twins were in, Kirby was interviewed at home washing his car. Twins went on to win huge. Boring game unless you were a Twin fan. Might have been against STL. not sure and to lazy to look up.

Paul Skenes makes his debut Saturday against the Cubbies in the Burgh. I sure hope they score runs for him. Jared Jones and Paul Skenes could make a decent 1-2 punch but what will most likely happen is our double A bats will let them down or El sucko and Bedwet will blow saves. :frustrated::frustrated::frustrated:

Guessing a few years from now Jones and Skenes could be hurling in the WS on any team with payrolls over 225 million. MLB system has taken a big :poopy: on Pittsburgh baseball fans.

I'll be watching. Damn thing is we can't score runs. If Skenes turns out to be a quality pitcher we all know he won't be a Pirate for long.

Bucs come alive and actually score 4 runs in 1 inning. Conner Joe with an 0-2 count on him smacks a 3 run shot. Then the Predator follows with another blast. 4-0 Bucs.

Will Skenes hang?? He got out of a bases loaded 1 out jam in the 2nd inning. His first inning in MLB was 1-2-3 striking out first 2.

I tell you, Jared Jones and Skenes will be on a big money team before you know it.

You can't make this sh!t up. 6-1 lead after 4. Skenes taken out. Guy comes in and strikes out first 2 batters. Then hits a batter and then throws 15 straight balls. Walks in two runs. Next double A pitcher comes in and throws 3 balls in a row. Finally gets a strike and crowd goes wild. Then walks another run in. Needless to say Cubs tied it up 6-6. Thankfully the rain came and halted play.

MOTHER F MLB SUCKS!!!!!!!!! MLB needs a contraction. To many triple A players and all good ones go to money teams.

Not on him. That is Shelton babying him. Skenes didn't pitch that nightmare inning.
