Another exciting season of Pirate baseball is upon us.

The great American past time will be opening in South Korea.

I'm calling it now, the bashers of the Burgh will break .500. 82-80

The best prediction I've seen so far is a 72 win season and the worse is 65.

I think that's a good range. But maybe they'll catch a little lightning. I would love to see them in the world series before I die

I live in a major market sporting area and my little sports city I root for has faired much better in my lifetime. I've seen 6 SB's, 5 Stanley Cups, and 3 World Series. Would I love more SB's and SC's, absolutely but if I could only see one more Pittsburgh Championship it would be my beloved BUCS.

At least we don't have to worry about the pre-season hype of winning out like the Steelers did only to face reality when playing in live competition that matters. :drinks:

Hold on to your hats, Cutch may be returning to spring training. I know the Burgh likes him but I don't see where it will help this team. He must have come cheap.

Last time we won a WC Playoff game we had to take on the Cardinals for a best of 5. We were up 2-1 and I was so sure Cutch was going to hit a game winning HR in Game 4. He admitted after the fact that the thought ran thru his head in the on deck circle.

The 3 river bombers are 75.5 over/under at The Hard Rock Casino. Gonna put my yearly C note on it. Lost last season. Not sure which way to go this year. Probably make my decision pulling into the parking garage.

Pirates leading MLB in Spring Training homers. Guess we'll rank this right up there with the Steelers undefeated 2023 pre-season and KP lighting it up.

COME ON MAN!! That was just cold.;+) It's going to be magical season. :ninja::ninja: I think this Kenny predicts magic. At least that's what I think he said.:laughs:

Went to the Hard Rock Casino to do my season bet on the boys of summer. Amazes me what you can bet on. The whole ride up I was hemming and hawing. I've won the over/under 3 out of 4 times. The boys won to many last season. I ended up putting a C note on the under. Don't think they can hit 76 wins:( I did put a 20 spot on winning it all. They are +17000. I'd win a lot of money and then blow it celebrating.

    BEAT EM BUCS!!!!!

Probably just means Bradenton has better wind gusts than other Florida venues. Remember how great they looked last year until May hit? Could happen again. They are unfortunately not built to withstand the dog days of summer. Spring and Fall maybe but in between has always been their challenge. Would love nothing more than for them to prove me wrong. Kinda depends on if other Central NL teams crash and burn as they have off and on over the past many years, thus allowing the Bucs to avoid the cellar. I'll follow them religiously once again as I've done from before Mighty Maz did his magic about a century ago.

Debating going to see the BUCS. In Philly mid April. Do not have a good track record going up to see them. Last time I saw them win a guy named Barry Bonds hit a HR to seal the deal for us. I'm like 2-12 going up to see them. Favorite moment was when a catcher we had named Ed Ott, "Otter" looked up during warm-ups and saw I was only Pirate hat in the area. He threw a ball to me and to this day it sits on my dresser. By the way, we lost that day like 18-2.

RIP Otter!!!!! He passed this month.

Over the last 20 yrs, I get to enjoy first couple of weeks before the wheels fall off. But last year I got to enjoy a whole month of fantastic Bucco baseball, before the wheels fell off.
Come on Buccos lets make this a season to remember! Lets wear out the Jolley Rancher!

I went for a visit back to Pa last April. My niece took me to a Pirate game vs Dodgers, not only we won that game we got the broom out and swept them. April was magical until May came.

I've lived in Dodger land now for more than half a century yet anytime the Pirates can beat those bums, it's nirvana for me. Those sweeps were magic the last 2 years. Pirates > Dodgers! :drinks:

You're in the drivers seat. It's whatever you want it to be. The Rancher/Roger switch was right out of Norm Crosby's play book. "After her cadillac surgery, her vision improved greatly!"

I do remember that. Nothing better then 60-70 million sweeping 300 million. MLB is frigging ridiculous!! Hell , with revenue sharing I'd have all minimum salary guys. I'd have a ton of cheap promo stuff to get the fans in and I'd be one of the richer owners;)

Well the HR festivities continue for the Bucs - 3 so far on opening day to tie it 5-5 heading to 9th, albeit they're still in Florida but roof is closed so not wind-aided. For teams having played only 1 game so far, Bucs are tied for MLB lead with Blue Jays for HRs. I like it. Keller didn't look good but he tends to do that a lot for the #1 starter.
