Man, we had it drilled into our collective skulls when we were kids how to safely handle firearms and how they should be stored. After I took my hunter education course, the first thing my dad did when I got home was hand me his .22 rifle to see if the first thing I did with it was to check to see if it was loaded. I didn't let him down, fortunately.
