But Mash, you didn't let us know much of anything.
    1. You provided some retention numbers for the Steelers, supposedly from 2009-23, that didn't line up
    2. When asked, you presented some highly suspect numbers for other teams with a link that does nothing to back them up.
    3. Not only does the link have nothing to do with individual teams, it references a different time period
    4. Other issues with your numbers were pointed out (e.g., how are the Steelers just below league average at 33% when the worst was 60%)

A couple of years old and slightly different time period but this study was well done. From 2012-2021 the Steelers drafts were exactly...wait for it.... AVERAGE. But their Day 3 picks have been far below average. Scouts or somebody were doing poor homework beyond the third round. And it doesn't help to have one of the smallest staffs in the NFL during the most important time of the season for planning. If the Steelers truly draft as an organization then it was a clear sign a shakeup was needed.

Since 2018 how many players that we drafted have we offered a second contract to.

Edit: reason i say this is because you did the work. Abs this was my reply to it.
"rudolph and freiermuth the only legit ones we've been able to retain from selecting them in the draft.
You can add loudermilk, even though there's no production from him."

And now we have the 2022 draft where we traded our top two picks. So it's only going to get worse.

If you happened to scan the writeup you would see that the Ravens were the 3rd best drafting team during the same period.

But here's the remarkable thing that might surprise a few people:

    2012-2021 Regular Season Win/Loss

Ravens: 128-84 with 4 seasons ≤0.500; division winners 5 times
Steelers: 128-82-2 with 3 seasons ≤0.500; division winners 4 times

So while the Ravens were drafting better players the Steelers managed nearly the same record. And before anyone jumps on it, yes, the Ravens won a few more postseason games (including the SB in 2012).
I think it was Cowher that said "it's a fine line"....

One could argue that Tomlin was doing more with less. But he had less as a direct fault of his own if you believe the stories that Tomlin owns the roster, and its 'baggage'...

The ravens were just a .500 team between 2013(uncluding a 5-11 season in 2015) to until Lamar Jackson become the starter in 2018 in mid season...During this period, the steelers were in the killer B's era.Since mid season in 2018,the ravens are much better that the steelers

do you want us to include 2022+? I really do not think you want even our 2022 into that consideration.

    It gets worse

I am still going to jump on that post season talk. because if players were better developed, we have a better chance obviously.

Also if we could draft a new HC, would be nice.

Yep, more pooft of how sh!tty the steelers are man.
All those rings the Ravens won in that timeframe are blinding.
They just keep beating up on Tomlin and our defunct organization like Masters of the Universe.
I'm convinced now and jumping to the fandom of the almighty ravens

Since 2013 they're 4-7 in the post season.

2 of those wins were against us.

    https://steelersdepot.com/2025/05/k...-drafted-demarvin-leal-he-would-be-a-project/

it says after they drafted leal, they realized he would be a project. WTF. who screens these players before we pick them? the drafting is bad. it's like they pick names out of a hat. OK pick this guy we will figure out later if we need him and where he just might fit on our team. does he fit in here? we don't know we will figure it out later.:cool:

I did not know that one.

That 2022 draft class has got to be the worse.
