2021 NFL Free Agency thread

Really confused on what is taking so long on the Tuitt rework?! What about Joe Haden even?!

 

Have to think given the current trends they really want to avoid doing it if they can to avoid problems down the road. That being said they do it every year so pull the bandaid off in one swift motion and get it over with.

 

Sign everybody. Sign EVERYONE.

 

With Tuitt maybe they don't want to restructure him so they don't have to cut him in 2 years cause his cap hit outweighs his worth to the team? At least I wish they would stop doing that.

 

I knew they were going to re-sign Marsh, he's weak, getting manhandled in the run game.

 

I like marsh. He was kind of thrown to the lions immediately without much prep. He may look a little better once he gets time to learn our defense. I think he's better then ola or some of the other backups over the years.

 

I have to agree with steelersrule. Marsh isn't strong enough against the run. He can help on special teams and rush the passer a little, but teams are going to see that and run right at him.

 

Seriously? That guy looks completely out of his element.He’s been on like seven different teams. He’s hot garbage.

 

as i said, i think he's better then chickillo and ola. the running at him isn't the problem it's the running by him. contain and turn them inside is mostly his job with the inside guys to clean up. we have and have had starters that allow too much against the run too. watt at times. woodley used to get run past as well. they get too far inside and get run past not containing the outside. he's no different.

he's had 175 tackles in 9 starts. watt has had 230 tackles in 62 starts.

 

then colbert should have signed someone else.

 

He’s had them take out the “required to block” part of the contract to lower the cap hit

 

i think i'd still look into wayne gallman formerly of the giants as some depth. the price should be right and he's a pretty good RB to have in waiting.

 

He is just not very good at it.. Even when he gives it full effort he is still a poor blocker.. He is a great route runner and has really good speed for his size so I hope the new OC just splits him out more or uses his route running to take a Defender away..To me it's Football 101 if the guy can't block send him on routes and change the scheme so someone who can block is blocking ...Lord forbid we actually run some PA passes and get him down the Seam..

 

He also gets a free pass out of MT's doghouse for his first 10 dropped passes.

Marsh has 9 starts, but has appeared in 92 games.

Watt has started all 62 games he's played.

 

In a full game as starter, I agree.

He is a special teams ace though, but how many do we need? We have Derek Watt and we just signed Cassius Marsh.

That is 3 guys who are solely special teams aces.

I remember back in the day the roster was so good we didn’t have room for any guys like that.

TJ watt 3443 defensive snaps. 312 STs snaps. in those 62 games.
