Not 2 argue, but what Steelers team have you been following?
I can't remember...since free agency...Us not losing big time players.

I'd have to somewhat disagree. Yeah years ago that was the case, but the Steelers up till lately have done a very good job of keeping their guys.

The times we keep them it's.....Man why waste space with these Guys, what has it got us, should have let Him go, and He's washed up.
The times we let Them go it's.....Man We can't keep anyone, what's this team thinking, and nobody wants 2 play for us.

Are those Medicare payments spread out over 60 years?

It's a case by case basis. Sometimes the Steelers keep guys around a year or two to long. Sometimes the Steelers keep guys at the expense of upgrading the position with fresh talent.

For the most part the Steelers do a good job of resigning their own guys IMO. This year it's a completely different ball of wax based on the cap situation.

It's unfair to look at things in such broad terms. People are going to whine and moan no matter what. It doesn't mean the Steelers didn't do the right thing.

Every team struggles to keep "big time" players. There are simply times that you can't compete with other teams' cap space when a star becomes a free agent. I get that. I accept it. But this is different. We backed ourselves into a financial corner and are getting gutted. Before last season started, the question was whether we could afford to keep JuJu and how would we keep TJ when his bill comes due. It wasn't if we could lose half our starting defense and STILL be strapped for cash.

This was a potential landing spot for JuJu. I guess those Cards are now off the table. :hehehe:

Was just coming to post this. JuJu will want at least 12 then.

It’s GM’s like this that screw up the market. They are hoping to catch lightening in a bottle and get AJ from his earlier playing days.

I am really surprised the Cards didn't go after JuJu. I felt like that was the best landing spot for him. Playing opposite Hopkins would have been JuJus best case scenario. Those two paired with Kyler Murray could have been special.

T.J. Watt yes. Minkah I doubt. Cannot pull that off even if they wanted too.

Yeah, would have been a good spot.

Jets and Miami are potential landing spots but they need a number 1, so that could be why he hasn’t ended up there yet, probably hesitant to give him #1 money. His last two years are working in the Steelers favor.

You don’t think they sign Minkah to another contract? I say there is no way they let him leave, they gave up a 1st for him.

I do not.... not this year anyway. The fifth year option on the other hand?! Pittsburgh has not announced anything in relations to that.

Extend Watt first. Pick up Minkah's fifth.

This year, no but they can’t do Watt either this year. Next year I think they do both.

I think they do Watt's this season personally. If anything, that is what I anticipate to happen within the next couple of days.

they are counting him as 10 mil. towards the cap right now and thats with his 5th year option. if they sign him to a contract the option amount goes out the window and they could lower it for this year.

Depends on the market. There's a chance they lose him. He certainly on the open market would get a huge pay day.

I dont think hopkins is a good fit for juju. Nether take the top off the defense.
