With the depth at the WR position in this draft, there's a reasonable chance that one or more of the guys who are projected to go in the 1st to early 2nd will slip into the 50's. I think Strong and Perriman fit that category. Strong may legitimately be our BPA at a position that we could use if he makes it to our 2nd round spot.

i start to think we need to watch at this draft witha look at the next year one too . we can't fill all the holes we have with all quality players .. so let's take the best available and in two years we will have a stronger roster

This exactly. If you could add a player like Strong or Perriman in the second round, then you do it. You can never have too many good players, and it's not like we're loaded at WR either. We have AB, Bryant, Wheaton, and then nothing.

    Agree completely.

Interesting tidbit from Schefter about Strong's visit.

He fractured his wrist and they say it may require surgery. He was supposed to be re-checked by the combine doctors too. Not sure if that happened yet.

Though if he fractured it during/end of the season, surgery may have already taken place. Can't find a lot on timeline of the injury.

I read a couple days ago that he said it wouldn't require surgery. If the Steelers docs cleared him yesterday, I'd have to think it's good to go.

Side note- did anyone see Strong vs. Eric Rowe when ASU played Utah?

I watch a lot of PAC 12 football, and Strong is a good WR he goes up and gets the ball. If he was there in the second rd I would consider it, last season he beat USC on a hail mary TD.

Watched the Xavier Cooper highlights from the Utah and Stanford games. Wow, Cooper's got pursuit all day long. Very quick. He had 5 or 6 one on ones vs Andrus Peat and won the majority. I was impressed, I can see why they brought him in.

I believe WR position is a position the Steelers can evaluate well, that being said late rd wr if any.

I think you'll like our draft then, because it seems like we always end up drafting a few guys from our visits list.

Unless Brown is gone, there is not possible way we should take a WR that early with CB, OLB and S all needing help big time. Taking a WR in the 2nd would be nuts.

Problem is, AB's situation won't be resolved by the draft. Do you move forward in the draft hoping AB doesn't hold out or do you plan for the worst?

I really doubt AB will hold out into the season, but it does create some uncertainty with your draft strategy.

that's the problem ... me too i doubt brown will hold out but they have to take a decison quickly .... they interwiewed a lot of high rounders wrs ..

This comment was made before AB made his announcement, If cooler heads don't prevail then a wr has to be looked at possibly sooner. I hate to say this but I think AB is determined to do what ever he has too?

We are at 28 nonlocal prospects out of 30, is this correct?
