You thinks Coats is a better NFL run blocker than Hines Ward ehh?

The questions on Bryant's hands were BS for me. The questions on Coates are pretty legit. Hey, he could get it together, but his concentration issues are a concern. He's a Steeler now so I'm a fan. :smiley1:

I have zero confidence and I'll leave it at that.

Hey, I didn't particularly care for Martavis Bryant in college either...being a Steeler now, I got over it pretty damn quick

I think they are fine with him...plus they have Bryant. And no...no no....no comparing a guy they just drafted to Hines when it comes to blocking...not until he's done something in the NFL, haha.

If his blocking was the reason for the pick...I'm sure a later round player could do that too.

Wow...just wow. So disappointing. Third round pick on one of the only strong position groups we have. Genius, I guess we'll be drafting the best ILB available in round four.

Did you guys see who was throwing him the ball this year? My mind wouldn't be in it either if I were him. Why else do you think his run blocking is so great? Seriously, they threw the ball ONLY because they needed to occassionally change up the pace. They didn't throw well at all. And I question their offensive coaches ability to teach receivers.

IMO Auburn was worse than UVA at getting their receivers the ball, and UVAs receivers were almost all bad. Hell, their # 1 receiver won't even get drafted.

They drafted another Mike Wallace in Coates a fast player who drops too many passes.

When it comes to us drafting WR's, I usually check my opinion at the door because for some reason we have a knack for finding great talent at that position. We've had a few misses but our average is pretty decent. If they think they can sure up Coates' hands.. Then so be it. Can't hurt to have two tall receivers for Ben to throw to, especially when we're down in the redzone. Bryant and Coates could be a deadly force for Big Ben

Read last years scouting reports...they didn't agree with you. Yes Coates dropped a lot of passes to him, but most were on deep 9 routes..that were uncatchable anyways. Remember, Auburn is a running team. Their QB was the worst QB in the SEC completion % wise. But at the Senior Bowl Coates made their ALL 1st team, and caught the ball very well. You think that might be because he had ACTUAL QB's who could throw the ball at him ? Every scout I have read said Coates would easily be a 1st rounder if he didn't have all those drops. So for that reason alone...getting him in round 3 is AOK with me.

ESPN just showed a nice clip of our third round luxury pick torching our second round reach, so that was nice I guess.

Unless we're playing the Jets. For some reason, couldn't score enough against them.

Boy, if the light goes on for Carl Davis the Ravens will have a nice replacement for Ngata. Gonna be tough to deal with him and Jernigan twice a year.

Coats literally is the slowest receiver that will make the team next year, even a 4.4 speed. Brown/Wheaton/Bryant/DHB are all faster.

Well, they were wrong and I was right, so...:lolol:

I try not to voice a lot of negativity about a newly drafted player, because it will seem like I'm dumping on the guy, but I've watched a lot of him, and I'll tell you that their are some fundamental things that he does poorly. I have faith in Richard Mann, who will have some nice clay to work with.
