2015 NFL Draft Discussion Thread [No Steelers Spoilers]

This is exactly why I made that comment. Had nothing to do with me wanting Williams or not, the Ravens jumped right in front of us because the Steelers will never be aggressive and take risks for potential rewards and when it came our time to pick we were one of the only teams to show "On the clock" for any point in that point of the second round and it appeared they panicked and took a pick from Mel's Big Board or something.

 

Must be a reason P.J. is still there.

They just don't do anything remotely as exciting as that. Give up a pick or two that will, as probability suggests, end up being off the team after their initial contract (if they even make the team) to get a guy who has a higher chance to make a difference. I will say though with as many holes as we have on defense it is tough to justify giving up too much to move around but they don't do it anyways so doesn't matter.

 

As a 5T or a nose?

I had Golson going in the third round to the Steelers. Ill take that as 1/2 point.


Has anyone ever seen or met Mark Kaboly ? I have. And when I think of Mark being anywhere close to Golson...I see this Image.....

Yeah same here. Wouldn't have hated or loved the pick but it did seem almost an intentional jab from the Ravens, and then we went into panic mode it appeared.

Yep. Once again, size ain't everything. Patriots Devin McCourty is 5-10 190 lbs and is a safety.

 

How we as fans have such a clouded memory.. We don't take risks? We didn't move up to pick Polamalu in '03?... I remember everyone wanted the steelers to take Larry Johnson.. And were upset when they didnt... There's a reason we didn't make a move for Williams.. They didn't feel he was worth giving up picks for.. And from what I've read, we pursued trying to trade up for Rowe. But apparently the price was to high for us. And I as a fan am quite happy that we didn't sell the farm for one player. We need as many picks as we can for depth.

 

To relply to SteelElvis and Ender, he's definitely not a nose. I think he can be an inside pass rushing presence at the 3 tech. He has some versatility and can be used along the line. I think it would be a good fit for whatever Butler whats to do in some variable fronts. He isn't a block eater though. More of a penetrator. Quick.

 

Reading again my list, you're right. How bad we've been that Gay looks as one of our best CBs!

 

And behind us the Colts took a 5-10 187 lb CB.
