Bouchette blogged about this earlier today saying signing Nix, Darby, and Fogg and cutting Will j, Golden, and Blake would save the Steelers roughly 3 million in cap space while not losing thatuch in the talent department.

 

They like Johnson, I can't see keeping both him and nix unless they cut Dri which isn't going to happen.

Or they are using Johnson as the 3rd TE and are cutting James. I don't see that but who knows.

 

Still don't understand the love fest that the FO and Tomlin have with Archer. Cut him

 

Add Shakim Phillips to the list so I'm guessing Murphy made the team....at least for the first 4 weeks

 

HUGE Blake fan so that would really bum me out if that happens. I could see Golden getting axed, though.

 

Someone will give Phillips a spot

 

I like Blake but he a struggled this preseason IMO.

 

Yeah, either cut him or use him. Will be interesting to see how Seattle uses their version of Archer, Tyler Lockette, who may have more wiggle, but same play style. If we can't find a use for Archer after two camps, then it may be time to cut strings and field a roster of guys that our coaches are comfortable using.

Yeah I would imagine the Browns, Ravens, Panthers or Seahawks could use some more quality WR's. Probably a lot more teams, too.

The Patriots actually are in need of receivers with LaFell injured....i'll bet a dollar that the Patriots will sign Shakim , let him practice for a few days...purge him for info and cut him on Wednesday so his contract won't be guaranteed...then re-sign him the following week for scraps

Not sure why they didn't play Holliman much , but when we go cover 2 he is one of the only DB'S who seem to understand how to play it.

 

Mental mistakes. Seems like HoJo's biggest issue has been himself. Maybe his ceiling is in fact higher, but if you can't be relied upon you can't be on the 53. Same thing is happening to Shamarko. Has all the tools physically, but there's no way you can put him on the field of he doesn't have it mentally

 

I couldn't disagree more. HJ makes an occasional play, but he misses more than his fair share. He's been in the league for 3 years and remains a fringe player at best. While Chick lost 35 pounds,changed positions, amd still managed to make a few plays and fewer glaring mistakes.

 

Wierd, he looked more ready than Harris when he came in. Harris sucked at blocking!

 

No big surprises so far. Most of these guys pretty much stunk it up all preseason.

 

Steelers Depot last night was saying that HoJo was one of the bright spots and thought that he might make it.

 

keeping willj and nix opens a spot if james and harris are cut. willj can play 3 spots. nix takes his spot at FB. willj takes james spot at 3rd TE and harris' spot at 3rd RB.
