A lot of history in this game.

A lot of painful losses, I remember them quite well.

I hope we can take this team down at least once.

If Ben wins this one I think it puts him in a different tier of all-time QB's. This gonna be one for the ages.

It will also solidify coach Tomlin's legacy, and I know we have to take one game at a time ,but coach T has to win it all with this team that he put together

I remember how mad I was after each of those losses. I hope our team can pull out a win for us.

Totally agree, a lot of people out there wanting to discredit Tomlin.

Stories will be rewritten if Steelers win.

Well we did beat them 7-6 in 98 playoffs. We got that feather in our cap.

Same here, but the 2004 AFC Championship game is even worse in hindsight, knowing now that that was one of the major games the Patriots were running Spygate.

True, but we have to win the SB not just beat NE. It'll help Tomlin's resume, but we have to win it all for it to be solidified.

Other than Superbowl's this maybe the most important
game in Ben R. Mike Tomlin's career. It's time to get the monkey off their backs.

If any team is equipped to deal with the Patriots in the conference, it is us.

We will have to play flawless in order to win.

...Truly, the most painful loses of my football-watching career.

I wouldn't be able to control myself if we win today.

I wonder what our status ( Underdogs vs favorites) would be vs Atlanta or GB. My guess:

Atlanta: Underdogs. They have Better QB, we have Bell...but they have two headed RB monster. I think JJ is a tad better than A.B. Nonetheless I'll call it a wash.

GB: I just don't know. If the Packers stopped Bell, do you trust Ben to win a shootout with Rodgers?

I think we'd match up better with GB overall.

Green Bay isn't consistent on offense, it took them 5 possessions to score against the Giants and against the Cowboys they quit playing in the second half. GB is very similar to the Steelers in that aspect and just like the Steelers, when they do get going they put up points in bunches. The team the Steelers would fair best with it GB because they tend to shoot themselves in the foot as bad as the Steelers do. The Falcons would be winnable but we'd have to score on every possession, the Falcons biggest flaw is they have no defense and simply outscore most teams forcing them to pass all the time. The major flaw with both GB and the Falcons is neither team can stop the run, the Cowboys fell behind early otherwise they could have won by controlling the clock, the Falcons haven't played any teams that can run as well as the Steelers and it just shows how match ups determine who goes to the SB. Had Atlanta had to play the Cowboys, we'd be looking at Dallas and GB, Seattle wasn't going to beat either of those teams without Earl Thomas, they look like a mediocre defense without him. Falcons - Pat SB, I hate saying that but we can't stop NE offense, even with DL running the defense we just don't have a shut down CB to allow for blanket coverage underneath and because of that we have to play zone and hope for mistakes against a team that makes very few.

I went to the 96 game (which actually took place in 1997). The fog made that game a joke even before it began.

I vowed never to see a football game in Foxboro again, even though I live in New England close enough to do so. Won't be there today either.
