Can we win 1 out of 3 without Ben? I know, we still should fight for the #1/2 seed, but Baltimore does not have that tough a schedule left, so 4-0 isn't out of the question. Therefore, we would be fighting for the wild card. One more win would almost lock it up.

At 11-5, Only Jets/Tenn/Oakl/Den have a chance at catching that, and we hold the tiebreaker against a few of them. So, my question is, do we admit defeat and rest Ben? With Ben, we have been playing like one of the best teams in the league, and we have won the Super Bowl from the 6 slot before, so I wouldn't feel too bad about starting out there.

We need him healthy, and I think we'd be set up for a good run. Anyone else?

First of all, I doubt Ben misses anytime. What they should be shooting for is a win in San Fran and blow outs against the Rams and Browns where they can rest him and other who are hurt.

I still feel that the Ravens will lose another game, either against the Bengals or at san Diego. That means we must win out. The Ravens last game is at the Bengals. That means we must win every game to win the division.

    Think positive.

I am thinking positively, but also realisticly. Ben could play at 3/4 strength, or maybe worse, get hurt, and it still may not accomplish anything. Or, we can rest him, take a wild card slot, and have him come in strong for a deep playoff run.

They could run every play (Ha, the thought.....shaking head with Arians at OC) and the Defense alone could win one of the last 3. My gess is that Ben will try to go at San Fran. If they can sneak out of there with a win, he will continue to play. If they don't t Tomlin needs to grow a sack and a brain and lock Ben down for the last 2 games and let Dixon's legs and the D beat the Rams and/or Borwns as we will not be able to pass up the Ravens

To me - it all depends on what happens NEXT Sunday. We don't play until Monday. If the Ravens beat the Chargers in San Diego (no certainty there) - then I think we rest Ben and take our chances in SF with Batch or Dixon. If the Chargers beat the Ratbirds - then I say the Steelers do everything they can to get Ben in there and go for the 13-3 record. Some of it also depends on the Bengals playoff situation week 17 as well. If they lose this week or next, then the Bengals will be essentially out of the playoffs, making week 17 an easier win for the Ravens. I think the Steelers have to be prudent and realistic when it comes to division championship aspirations and use their personnel accordingly.

I think I'd rather him sit diwn the next week, giving him 2 1/2 weeks till the next game, and then come back for the last 2 healthier, and ready to build momentum. Maybe start him next week, but if he's hurting and uneffective, pull him early.

Doesn't matter what we think. Just like last night if the Doctor clears him to play and he wants to play he will play. There was no doubt of that in Tomlin's mind last night and I see nothing changing his mind for any of the remaining games.
