What is the purpose and role of a Head Coach? Just line up transportation and meals or clap on the sidelines? Everything this team does or fails to do falls under the HC and he then is accountable to his boss. That is how management and accountability works in most places. If someone or others are not doing their job the HC needs to take actions to fix the problems negatively impacting his team. HIS TEAM. Stop with this none of this is Tomlins fault. According to you, no HC should ever be fired because all the issues are someone else's fault.

I was not trying to say that coaches shouldn't be held to a standard or even that there are things that coaches should be held accountable for, I just don't think our current issues are about coaching.

The coach isn't responsible for the injuries. Yes, he has to play the card that he was dealt, but sometimes you just don't have the personnel to cover for the shortcomings. I don't think you can blame him for the lack of physical football either. Now, I wish you could, but again sometimes you have guys trying to be physical and play hard, but the reality is the other team wants to play physical as well. Sometimes the fight is in the dog, but the dog just isn't as big as the one across from him. No matter how badly my scottish terrier wants to beat that Rottweiler....it probably isn't going to happen. The lack of Ben and the OC being on the same page is something he can play a larger role in fixing, but these kind of issues take some time and the reality is he could just be on a side that is adding to the conflict not fixing it. In other words, maybe he agrees with Ben, but the OC still keeps calling the dink and dunk. At some point he needs to take the play calling away if that is the case and fix it. My guess is that he and the OC agree and Ben is the one who wants to do some different things. If Ben is in a rebellious state there isn't a lot the coach can do at this point in Ben's career.

As much as I hate to admit this I have to agree with you. When we barely beat a Ravens team at home, playing with their third team QB's and running backs and half their roster missing, I knew the end was near. That 11-0 was a mirage.

I don't see it either and then one and done in the playoffs. We can't fix all the problems in time, including Ben's injuries, even though he says he dosen't have them.

You are not a Steelers fan.

The Steelers fans have been on here all season discussing the wins and the shortcomings.

You just came around when you could finally start whining and saying look at me.

Don’t try to put yourself anywhere near the status of a true Steeler fan.

Any chance you want to be a man and stand up to this post?

    I’m guessing not.

OP was in the Steelers/Colts game thread with his usual negativity, as soon as the Steelers came back to win he disappeared .

Not too long ago I would think most here could see the possibility of losing out based on how we failed week after week with no real change. Now, did 20 minutes of the last part of our last game completely erase all of this horrible play. Maybe, maybe not. We'll see here shortly and I hope what we last saw against Indy is the norm going forward. Not Cle but game 1 of the POs. ONward.
