I can't help but wonder if either it's not 100% or he doesn't have the strength he used to have in that arm. I've seen him grabbing at it a couple times this season. Not proof of anything, but enough to make me wonder if it's still an issue

He’s been overthrowing guys on the deep ball all season. IMO it’s more than likely to do with his knee as of late, but until we get some definitive information we’re just guessing.

Same could have been said of Tannehill. He's doing just fine.

IMO you only pick up a Haskins if he has a prime quarterback to learn behind. He's not someone you can stick in there and expect to be productive it looks like.

Give him a rest. Start Mason against the Bengals. Sounds crazy but he has to start somewhere. Ben is worn out and has the season to finish and the playoffs. The way we are playing now we are one and done in the playoffs.

Ben wasn't good this game, that pick 6 before halftime was killer, on his second interception Washington had a step on the Bills CB Ben underthrew the pass .

I don't think the second one was injury related. I think Collinsworth was right. Roethlisberger didn't set his feet and step into the throw. He threw that one flat-footed, which is why it came up so short.

Yes Ben has completed a few long balls earlier in the season, but if you look closely when was the last time he overthrew anyone on a deep ball months ago.
A few games ago when he completed a long ball to Claypool, he was wide open for an easy TD then had to stop and jump to catch the ball at the two. Last night Washington broke open early Ben didn't see him in time and just didn't have enough on it to get it there.
Against the Bills Ben made two mid range passes one to JU JU and one to Ebron down the right hash, in his prime those were his bread n butter throws to Hines and Heath, now its two a game.

That is my larger concern, that he isn't even attempting many intermediate throws. The Washington throw was more a matter of bad footwork than anything else. He saw Washington so late that he rushed the throw, so he didn't step into it.

Late throw, he saw it late and rushed it
Ben has $22 million dead money if he doesn't play next year.

Hell I would take some of that Dead Money :lolol: I would bring it back to life at all costs...

I wonder if that figure is owed him if he decides to "Hang em up" and retire?

That $22m is actually the bonuses that he has already been paid, they restructured him this season and pushed that cap charge in to 2021. They won’t actually owe him anything in cash terms if he retires.

I doubt Stafford would be realistic financially and it is telling that the Saints went with Hill over Winston. I really do like the idea of going after Darnold.

Ben will play until his arm falls off, now I didn’t say he would play well. Shame for injuries this year I thought we really had something special. Just can’t lose the quality of players we lost on defense.

I want to see it happen but the Steelers won't even trade for a decent running back let alone quarterback.

There’s a rumor the Lions will deal Stafford to rebuild post Patricia. But he can’t sop with the “John Wayne” ****

I really think the D is serviceable if the O can get it's act together. But the O is Ben and that ain't changing.
