Well in 2014 D. Murray had more overall yards, more tds, and OPOY .
2016 , and many years Ezekiel E. Was the big cheese. Hell I watched Ezekiel E pretty much beat the Steelers by himself. You guy are taking Me wrong L Bell was good . He just never was the best in the league. That's all.

Bell was first in yards by Scrimmage per game in 2016 in the NFL and he was close in 2014 (50 yards behind Murray) but Murray had 70 more touches.....Murray was never better than Bell as an RB....The RB position is not just about rushing yards. You need to be versatile!

Here's article on him when he left to go to the Jets explaining his career to that point and how prolific he was. Pretty impressive numbers. Among the most productive players ever.

It's a nice breakdown of all his stats.

I can't blame his agent much for this since according to Ed Bouchette, his agent had accepted the offer from the steelers in 2017 but Bell had rejected it

His agent was a major racist and pushed that issue with his players

The issue is that the Tomlin defense was outplayed. They went 13-3 and the game was at Home. Don't get me wrong the offense scored 42 points but the defense gave up 45! Ben had a pick as well as a fumble for a TD. Plus not ONE sack on Blake Bortles. Blake Bortles! The defense got shelled and that was on Tomlin.

We used up almost all the tread on his tires, then let him roll away. We did good.

You often wonder if they didn't over rule the Jesse James touchdown catch what happens.

Steelers would of been the #1 Seed. NE the #2 seed.

We would of played the Titans in the 1st round at home. We beat Titans that year at home 40-14 previously.

Problem was the Steelers had lost 30-9 earlier that season to the Jags at home (Ben threw like 5 INTS that game)

They were so mad and looked past the Jags, they wanted New England again because they felt they got screwed.

I guess failing to realize they got their butts handed to them earlier that year to the Jags.

Not sure why but when Jacksonville plays us at home, they some to have our number.

But still not reason to lose to Blake Bortles at home in a playoff game. There was also a fumble by Ben that got returned 50 yards for a TD in that game.

If that didn't happen, Steelers may have prevailed.

But give props to the Jags team they almost beat New England in AFC championship the following week up in Foxboro. They were a lot better than credit was being given to them then.

Is it possible to narrow the discussion and broaden it st the same time? I think I got whiplash from how this one went. He led the league in yards from scrimmage per game(shrinks important stats down to one to prove point he led the league) then blows a hole the size of TRS after the implosion to say being a rb is more than about yards its versatility. It's like watching my Dad use the zoom feature on camcorders during the 90's. Extreme close up and now so far back I lost focus.

Pick 5 stats that make up what the best back in the game has. Compare that to others at the time and then present the findings. I'm willing to say without checking he comes in top 10 out of 32 maybe scratches 5 due to the yardage from receiving but Bell wouldn't be at 1.

It's why I said overall yards. What's more versatile than that . There is a reason He won OPOY, and L. Bell didn't.

Najee Harris. If you are drafting fantasy football players, Harris is gonna be a beast.

I was really disappointed with Bell. He was among my favorite Steelers and really wanted them to draft him. I was shocked when they took him and he even exceeded my expectations.

It’s a shame too because I do feel for a little while he was the best all purpose back in the league and would have continued to be successful with the Steelers. They knew how to use him.

Props to him for a heartfelt apology to the fan base, he knows he screwed up. I got into it with the board member formerly known as the analyst that if he sat out a year he would ruin his career. Just one of many debates that kid was wrong about.

Back in May the kid was still bellowing that Bell made the right decision

Now even Bell doesn’t agree with him

He had a great run for a couple of years, but many players do and just disappear.

He never owed me an apology. He made a business decision that apparently he regrets. He needs to forgive himself.

The lack of appreciation and outright hate he gets here is crazy to me. I’ll always remember him being on the field unconscious after selling himself out for a yard, then being protected by Heath

It's stunning how few games those guys were actually all three on the field. There really wasn't an "era." It was what could have been.

The killer B's era were the most disappointing era in steelers history for many reasons.Like bad luck (bad timing injury to Brown, Bell or Ben or another player like Shazier in 2017) stupidity (Bell suspended twice, same thing for Bryant but worse) and so much drama on this team, especially from 2017 when the steelers had drama every week
