Minkah's biggest regret... not going to Eagles, Chiefs, Seahawks or Rams instead of Steelers... so he could get a ring.

I don't recall Minkah ever making All-Pro with the Dolphins .

Minkah played in a defense that was mostly good in the regular season... but stunk in the post season.

He complained about his role when he got drafted by Miami, that's why they traded him though.

It's not like the offense ever jumped out to a lead .

The entire team stunk in the post season for the past decade. Can't blame that on offense alone.

Fair enough, maybe if they had a lead the defense would perform better ;).

A prime example of a coaching staff that didn't know how to, or refused to, create a game plan around their star players.

Man... Tomlin must have had some serious skeletons in his closet. I don't think I recall players, be they active or retired, talk about the shortcomings of not just the Head Coach but also his staff. Thankfully, Tomlin didn't make the headlines quite like Urban Meyer.

That said, the more stories like this come out, the more damaging it is to his legacy.

And that is 100% coaching! Unless you can convince me that all 45 players had a bad day, over and over again.
I think when all is said and done, his legacy will be well below what it is currently.

Fisher had some good, sometimes elite teams with Titans early on. By the mid 00's... he was stagnant like Tomlin was from 2012-2025.

I mean on the one hand I get it, he was very good in the roll they wanted him to play but on the other, they didnt maximize his talent.

There was very little to no creativity by the prior coaching staff. Hearing Graham talk is a breath of fresh air, taking player input, having open dialogue, so much better.

What bothers me most about that article, why didnt Minkah go talk to the coaches, I feel like they were afraid to approach the coaches which was highlighted during the team meeting between the defense and the coaches last season which Queen referred to as a clearing of the air.

Hopefully things run much more smoothly this season.

He was a very good coach from the 1999 to 2003 period but he was outdated after that, especially in the 2010s

And remember the comments of Slay too when he said that Austin was not like that in Detroit!

The big plays for him tailed off at the end of his time with us.

But having him on the team let us play among the most single-high in the league while allowing among the fewest explosive pass plays.

He was still valuable when he left IMO. But probably not "highest S in the league" valuable anymore.
